Ideal site for D Day history and exploring Normandy coast

Spent a happy few nights here in our caravan in early September (off season so quieter than summer peak). 30 mins drive from Caen (Ouistreham). Site only half full. Pitches are mostly a good size, some have privacy hedges, some are more open. Had a good meal outside at the restaurant when we arrived, and you can order fresh baguette or croissant for the mornings. Staff helpful, speak English, and lent us a tap adaptor for our pitch which was a big help. We found the washroom facilities fine. Fishing ponds, also a swimming pool (still open in early Sept). Must add a word about Port en Bessin, the nearby village on the coast, which was a gem, bit like a Lynmouth or a small Whitby. It's a short walk from the site via a back lane. Harbour, small port, beach, cliffs - lovely! Super U supermarket on other side of Port en Bessin. Overall a good site rather than excellent, and would happily return.
