Very friendly owners and stunning views

We stayed for only two nights at the end of our summer camping trip but wished we were staying longer. The site was immaculate, well looked after and cared for. The owners made us feel very welcome and really wanted you to relax and enjoy their site. Great for walking and views of the mountains - a first for our daughter. Garden games and the pool table were a hit. Hypermarket was very well stocked - was like a treasure trove. It is a quiet site so don't look for entertainment for older children but that is what makes it so special.

Peace and Tranquility

We were the first arrivals with our caravan for the 2016 season in early May. The mountains were still snow capped, the scenery stunning and birdsong delightful. We were able to choose our pitch from the many spacious and well kept available. The owners Herve and Virginie were most helpful and friendly and were more than happy for us try our schoolgirl French. The small but well stocked hypermarket was run on an honesty basis. The restaurant was very cosy with huge woodburner - necessary at that time of year - and great choice of very reasonably priced wines. The walks, cycles and views from our van were wonderful. We were in France for 3 months and stayed for 2 weeks - it remains one of our favourite sites.

Stunning

This site is fantastic, beautiful and peaceful with a small selection of games to keep the kids entertained.  The small quiet bar sells a lovely selection of wines and beers and the organic shop is great.  Would definitely return.

Simply Stunning!

We spent a week here in June this year and were blown away by this friendly site and the whole location. The drive in towing our 7m caravan was daunting to say the least, when you go there follow the driving instuctions on this site to the letter. We explored other routes when solo and that is by far the best. The one way system thought Argles-Gazost in itself can be a challenge, you appear to be going into streets that get narrower and narrower but if you hold your nerve it is OK. The winding road through Bun is interesting but when you arrive in Estaing it is worth it. The site is not large but very well appointed. There is no pool but it has everythging else (including ordered braed and croisant) and the views are stunning! When we arrived the very friendly owner and his lovely wife told us that we were invited to a free wine tasting that evening which was informative, fun and an opportunity to meet other guests and of course, drink a lot of wine and cognac. The area is a walker's paradise with countless signed walks up into the mountains and round the lake where there is a small restaurant and a horse riding centre. We really enjoyed our stay here, the highlight of our annual month in France. Awakening each morning to the sound of cow and sheep bells was very different. A visit is a must if you like walking.

Went for 6 days and stayed 13!

In 31 years of camping this has got to be the best site we have stayed on. The overall 'feel' of the site is exceptional. Facilities spotless - we had booked to stay for 6 nights and stayed for our whole holiday of 13 nights. We just didn't want to leave. An easy journey from Santander (269 miles about 5hrs). If you care about your surroundings this is the place for you...... amazing walks and cycling (including Tour de France routes) right from the site without using a car. Scenery is stunning with snow capped mountains at the head of the valley about 3miles further up the road to Lac D'Estaing. Birdwatching was marvellous. Small well stocked 'Hypermarket' (Tiny barn!) with all the basics, eat in the bar (specials each day) or have a takeaway. Wine choice was superb - hopefully your visit will coincide with a wine tasting! Met some amazing people - backpackers, touring cyclists as well as the usual campers. Ambience created by the owners Virginie and Herve promotes a sharing environment where fellow campers eager to share their daily experiences of walks and rides. Cyrille helps to maintain the beautiful site even a small bed with herbs so had some mint to go in my mojito! Argeles Gazost is the nearest town with a good choice of shops, supermarket and weekly market.

A beautiful site

I can only endorse what others have said about this site, it is immaculate! The owners are extremely friendly and helpful, the bar provides simple meals that are tasty and there is a wide choice of beers and wines available. We had a "large" pitch which is exactly what was, we could have got another van on if we needed to! The General Facilities description above has a minor error - wifi is available site wide, but do you have to pay for it, it is only free in the bar area.

Passionate About Recycling

For anyone who cares about the environment, this is the site for you. The site is beautiful, lots of fun and in an amazing setting however, alongside working very hard to make your stay a memorable one, the owners also work passionately and consistently to provide the opportunity to recycle almost everything. There are even composting bins for organic waste and animal food bins for any left over food.

A Site not to be missed

Pyrenees Natura is a site not to be missed. The setting is fantastic with beautiful scenery and tranquil surroundings. Site facilities are maintained to a very high standard and offer all that you will need to enjoy your stay. The restaurant offers a selection of local cuisine and a fine choice of wines at very reasonable prices. Best of all was the friendly welcome by our hosts who work hard to ensure that a good time is had by all. (You will even find an on site weather station to keep you up to date with local conditions!) - Highly recommended - Richard and Ann Kingdon

Perfection in the Pyrenees

We stayed on this site for 12 nights from 14 September 2015 and couldn't have been happier. It's surrounded by mountains and is a peaceful haven of tranquility.  It's very close to Lac Estaing from where various well-signed paths lead you up into the higher vallies and mountains - for as far as you want to go.  The GR10 passes the site entrance.  Very close by is Arrens with a wonderful bakery, deli and National Park Centre.  Lots more walks within easy reach from Aste and Le Barrage du Tec.The owners Virginie and Herve are welcoming and helpful and work incredibly hard. Herve's sense of humour unites all nationalities and Virginie's home made cooking is not to be missed. If you're feeling hungry try the Pyrenean breakfast which they offer once a week! Quite an experience and payment is by donation (because that's the sort of people they are).  They have a fantastic selection of wine sold at ridiculously cheap prices in the restaurant. This is a place for nature lovers and we would love to return one day.
