Visited this site again - as good as we remembered!!

Stayed here before, and would definitely stay here again! As you approach the site you could be thinking the location is not so good - you will pass the edge of a pretty town but then you will follow a river along a very industrial looking region then suddenly - pop - the campsite entrance appears! Reception very helpful and plenty of facilities for families such as nice pool, ping pong, wifi, seating area near reception plus the usual decent loos and showers etc. Now, the approach looks a bit dodgey but walk out the back of the site and take a lovely walk around some picturesque lakes. This place is great for those who like a walk! Not massive distance but we spent a bit less than an hour walking round the lake - most pleasant. The pitch we were allocated was not enormous but it was plenty big enough with hedges around the edges. Electric and water was a couple of pitches along and fairly easy to access. Whole site is not hilly so easy to pitch up. Quiet overnight - close enough to big roads for easy access but far enough away to avoid excess road noise. A lovely French site.

2 Great weeks

We have just spent a fortnight here. All the pitches are bounded by Hornbeam hedges and are perfectly sized, our Caravan and awning fitted no problem with room to get the car off the roadway. We booked a pitch with water and waste along with the electric so showers in the caravan were no problem. The 2 toilet blocks however were clean and tidy, the one furthest from reception had a laundry attached, Washer and Dryer tokens from reception, so no need to take 2 weeks of togs. Free Wifi all over the site. It is a stopping off point for Northern Europeans heading up and down, we had 5 or 6 neighbours in the 2 weeks, but as in all sites abroad 23:00 brought quiet all around. The swimming pool is well maintained and popular, as are the children’s play ground facilities. Baguettes and croissant can be ordered the day before for 08:00 delivery to reception, the Pain Raisin was a firm favourite of the other half!! There is a small shop selling reasonably priced essentials, who would run out of butter ???!! The site is very easy to find as there are signs when approaching Pont Audemer from either direction. We travelled to France via Le Havre, it is less than 24 miles to the site. Rouen, Honfleur, Deauville are all nearby, as are Calvados distilleries and Cheese manufacturing farms both of which give guided tours and tastings. The sites new (since April) owners are friendly helpful and capable, they speak English and can help with local attractions etc. There is also Tourist info in reception. There are several footpaths which pass the site and there are circuits round the nearby lakes which are 1.7km, 2.3km and 3.3km, brochure in reception. One point of note.. No dual axle units are accepted. We would definitely return, still much to see and explore in the area.

Ideal location for relaxing

This is the third time we have stayed at this site, it's an ideal location if on the way back to either Le Harve or Dieppe ferry ports. Our dogs live swimming in the lake, we have bikes and it's flat and safe to cycle into Pont Audemer which is a lovely picturesque little town.we have a Motorhome and the pitches are narrow to put a driveaway awning onto despite having reserved a super pitch. We asked to swap to a corner pitch and the staff were very helpful with this. One of the reasons the pitches appear narrow is because the hedges need trimming back, a problem we have encountered on previous visits, however it does not put us off and we will definitely be back in future years. All in all a lovely peaceful site

Friendly and relaxed site

Small site, with lovely set out pitches. On reading reviews we had concerns about "narrow pitches" - we had no problems. We easily fitted our caravan, car and sun canopy. We had a full service pitch, and we were the second pitch away from the pool. The electricity was located on our pitch and we had no problem with other people walking along the back of us. Everyone was happy and friendly. A lot of overnight people for ferries. We stayed for three nights and unfortunately the temperature was hot, however we did have some lovely trees for shade. The second morning we were excited to see clouds and a cooler temperature, and had chance to wander around the lakes - beautiful. The owners were very helpful and friendly. The "snack bar" was open and we also used the pool to cool down the first few days. Bread etc ordered the day before, ready to collect from 8 am the next morning. NO twin axles allowed due to length of some pitches. Lovely little town nearby.

3 night stay

Stopped 3 nights late september (2016) easy to find pre booked through the club. Pitch was on the small side good job we do not use an awning. Well kept site would use again if I was in the area, but not a long stay site although some great walks by the lakes with plenty of wildlife.

Tranquil site in the heart of Normandy

Great little site, lovely and quiet in September. We were pitched next to the pool, which was beautiful, cleaned every day and lovely and warm. Disappointed that the food on site was not available as it was not high season. Friendly couple who run it, great local knowledge and very helpful. Have booked again for next year, as in such a good position to visit the region. The nearby little medieval town was beautiful and had great markets on Mondays and Fridays. Pretty river and lake views. Visited Versailles, Honfleur and Rouen from here.

Stop Off

We used this site twice in August 2016. Both for single nights to break up the journey. The location is excellent, if not a little difficult to navigate. the site is clean and well kept and the staff were very helpful. It was a little noisy on our second stay, but in fairness this was from kids racing up and down the road outside of the site, on motorbikes and in cars. Overall a good site and especially excellent for breaking up a journey. Not sure if I would want to stay longer than a few nights, but would highly recommend as a good site to stage from.

OK for a short stay

We stayed her for one night before travelling back to the UK. Pitches were very long, but not wide and we would have just about managed to get the awning up... just! Luckily we didn't put it up as we were going the next morning. Site facilites were good, friendly staff and a great location for Le Harve before coming back to the UK

Good for a one nighter

Stayed for one night on way to tunnel. Great location, run by a very friendly people. Pool was small but looked clean and well equipped.  Pitch was very small for our 6 berth van but we coped ok for one night. The toilet/shower block were, however, very disappointing. Not big enough and need updating. One cubicle was being used to store a couple of broken sinks which children could have hurt themselves on. Luckily we used our own facilities in our van.  On a more positive note we ordered beef Bourgignon for takeaway and it was lovely and bread and croissants the next morning were delicious. Overall a small and friendly site - perfect for an overnight stop.

Adequate but needs improvement

Stayed here for four nights in late June while taking part in a concert in Pont-Audemer. Site location is very pleasant, just across the road (very little traffic) from the river and close to lakes (accessible by footpath directly from the site and a lovely walk) and a short drive from the attractive town of Pont-Audemer which has excellent eateries and good shops. Well laid out site with two facility blocks (not used by us and one being noisily extended during our stay) and some pitches in the centre sections, with the majority of pitches - some of which were very large and occupied by just one small tent - around the perimeter. Recreation field/children’s play area situated slightly away from the main camping area but swimming pool is close to several pitches, including ours. Also some noise from the sailing club next to the site on a couple of evenings. The site entrance is an issue: the barrier system only allows one vehicle through at a time, either in or out. There is a visitor/overnight parking area to one side but it is not large enough to allow newly-arrived outfits to park up out of the way in order to book in. Although we were the only outfit arriving at the time (late afternoon midweek) and had parked as far over as we could, we had to wait around 15 minutes for reception to finish dealing with other guests before we could be booked in, by which time there were several vehicles queuing up to get in or out. Our well-shaded pitch near the entrance was long but only just wide enough for our 2-berth with porch awning. We had booked a 'super' pitch, although I use the word advisedly as it wasn’t up to much. The concrete service point (both electric and water connections) was placed centrally at the back of the pitch rather than to one side. The plastic connector on the water tap was broken so it leaked like a sieve and we had to buy a garden hose fitting in order to use it. In addition we had difficulty reaching the raised grey water drain at the base of the block, despite having plenty of pipes and connectors, requiring the ‘van to be pitched to within a few feet of the service point, thus leaving little space to walk around the back. As the electric connection point also served the pitches either side, they had to walk through the separating hedges onto our pitch to connect up while stepping over our waste water pipes, fresh water hose and awning guy ropes – far from ideal. As the adjacent pitches seemed to be used for one- or two-nighters, this happened several times during our stay. Overall, adequate for one or two nights and reasonably priced but don’t expect too much.
