A gem of a site

This story happened on: 02/03/2012

When we were looky enough to be able to buy a caravan with a shower and toilet. We went to Low Manesty near Grange in Barrowdale. We has seen the site and fell in love with it, however as we had no proper facilities in or old van gave it a miss. Since we bought our new van we have stayed 5 times since. It is a great site for walkers, cyclist, and anyone who loves the Lakes. The wardens are friendly and helpful. Looking around you see Catbells, the lake, and amazing views of the rest of the valley. If they had seasonal pitches they would never get us away. I would suggest a visit. The good news for anyone who has not been for a while is the double yellow lines in the village. So don't have to run the gauntlet of double parked cars when towing your van. In my view a gem of a park

Hi Barkerfj

Couldnt agree more - we love this site to. On our last visit last October we had some fantastic weather and the site was quiet making it even more special. Its location on the quiet western shore of Derwentwater whislt being so close the fells in the wonderful Borrowdale makes it a perfect base for walking and for those who like the attractions of the town Keswick is a short boat trip away.

We are booked to go again in August (not our favourite time for visiting the lakes - we prefer Spring/Autumn) but cant wait to enjoy that something special Low Manesty Park offfers.
