A few years ago we took our caravan to Ireland arriving at Dun Laoghaire from Holyhead en route for Northern Ireland. We had forgotten the European Referendum was taking place and everywhere was awash with banners, flags and posters. Unfortunately the road signs were also obscured and my navigations skills took a dive. So much so that we missed the turn north and found ourselves heading for central Dublin. As we crossed the river Liffey familiar tourist sights appeared, "ooh look theres Temple Bar" I said to my white knuckled husband, folllowed by Trinity college and all those lovely places you normally see on foot only. Strangely enough we were the only caravaan tourists in Dublin that day, I don't expect you'd see many going round Trafalgar Square either. Anyway we finally found our way north , thinking we'd take a break as soon as we could. No-one had told there are no stopping places, it was the longest drive ever, all the way to Newry! But then onto lovely a holiday both north and south.
