Last Post from the Var

This story happened on: 07/07/2012

After leaving the Pays du Verdon, we headed back down to the Coast to meet up with our daughter and her family who had made a last-minute booking at a holiday ‘village’ near Frejus. We tried to book a pitch for our motorhome, but Club Colombiere was fully booked.

We’ve rented a ‘mobilhome’ for three nights which is costing a bit more than the 16 euros a night (last days of ACSI) we paid at Camping les Pêcheurs, just along the road at Roquebrune sur Argens. We managed to fill in two pleasant days there waiting for our two grandsons to come down from their home in the Savoie.

We’re grateful for the air conditioning and a full-sized fridge in our mobile home as the temperature mid-afternoon is 32C in the shade. The sun is shining, the oleanders are in full bloom, and the cigales are singing their hearts out. The forecast from www.meteo.fr is for more of the same.

However, tomorrow we will be retrieving our ‘van from the secure storage park and will start our journey northwards to sail from Calais on the 15th of July. We will be taking our time, but perhaps no more postcards for a while.

Hope you like our photos
