First Major Outing 1965

This story happened on: 06/03/2012

1965 the first year my parents bought a caravan after years tenting. They had a Sprite Musketeer towed behind a 1600cc Ford Cortina

The first main trip was to the Lake District after picking up my sister who was in college in London. Without the Motorways, we used to stop overnight at Burford on the way to London. In London we stayed at the Crystal Palace Caravan Club Site . This was the original Site on North Parade. Great location and interestingly a lot of Foreign outfits.

Mum and Sister in the caravan with me holding the tree up.

Later on the trip we stayed at the Old Hartley CC Site at Whitley Bay

My photo of the Site with our outfit in it.

Great times.
