Father Christmas Mystery solved!

This story happened on: 26/01/2012

If , as a parent or grandparent, you have ever been asked the question by an inquisitive child, my wife and I may have discovered the answer on an early December trip to club site, Lady Margaret's Park (Chirk).  The day was filled with warm sunshine and an extensive walk in the castle grounds adjoining the site beckoned.  Off we trotted, Dogservant, Kerryminder and Kerry Blue Susie. As we passed a large bird hide on one of the trails, we were delighted to see that the National Trust had set it up as a grotto and a decent queue of excited children, even more excited parents and "I can barely contain myself" grandparents waited with eager anticipation.

We continued our walk and were just as delighted to find a Christmas market in the grounds of the castle with open fires and traditional craft and food stores.  With a decent browse achieved, one or two purchases made, we headed back the way we had arrived.  As we reached the grotto, Father Christmas appeared outside accompanied by a Fairy Helper.  She explained that Santa was just taking a short break and would be back soon.  The fairy then guided Santa along the trail.  We followed, particularly as Susie is a huge fan of Christmas (but that's another story).  Ahead of us we saw.................. another Father Christmas, climbing out of a landrover!!

The two Santa's set about exchanging the traditional greatcoat as Dogservant commented, "So that's how you do it all in one night!"

"Ssshh," said Santa, not sure which Santa, they all look the same to me, "Don't tell anyone"

"We won't," replied Dogservant.
