Good service from Red Pennant!

This story happened on: 02/04/2012

Whenever we go across to France, Germany, Red Pennant cover has it has always stood us well.

Never so much as one year in the alps when coming through a tunnel near Chambery we got a horrible noise and smell from the car.  We lost power, but managed to limp on to the site.  We got to the site late and set up.  The next morning we couldn't move the car.  A quick call to Red Pennant and they sent out a local garage to look at the vehicle.  The confirmed what we though - gearbox trouble.  A further conversation with Red Pennant they arranged for me to have a hire car which was to last me until they could get a Discovery with a towbar transported from Kent down to us, close to Chambery.  Two days later the car arrived on the back of a low loader.  They loaded my car onto the low loader and transported it back to the UK to my repairers in Tamworth.  I continued my holiday with the Discovery and returned home with it.  Furthmore, I was allowed to keep the Discovery for a while, in the UK - fortunately my car was repaired before the Discovery was collected.

The whole incident was not the easiest moment we have had abroad, but the efficiency and necessity of Red Pennant was all to evident.  I would have no hesitation in recommending Red Pennant Continental Insurance to anyone.  For us it is essential - we would not go across to Europe without it.

our pack with passports and red pennant insurance slipped out of the car at a motorway pay point near Geneva. By the time we arrived in Northern France Red Penant knew where they were, where to pick them up from, that the site had space for us to stay an extra night if we needed to and that we could travel via the tunnel the day after. They had even tried to ring us but the phone was out of power!! The only pain was the 900 mile return journey - it wasn't covered by the insurance as it had been handed in!!!!
