Oh my goodness, it's true what they say..

When OH took retirement a couple of years ago everyone said "Oh you you'll wonder how you ever found time to go to work !" and "You'll be away in the caravan all the time no doubt?". Well that is what we thought and after the initial pause to try a bit of long haul travel that we had always wanted to do - we now actually do LESS caravanning !

After 25 years of rallying all year round we are actually in danger of becoming "seasonal". We always laughed when others talked of getting their vans ready for the "season".  What's that ?  We are out in all weathers, all year round.

Well, for the first time in years we were at home for Xmas and New Year !!!! We did visit the Xmas rally for their last night and so many asked us "Well, did you miss it ?" (as we have marshalled a Xmas rally for the last few years) and I actually said NO ! I think I shocked OH though, as he said yes! We did do the Valentines Rally in february, then Easter - which was a bit of a disaster and cut short because of the weather ! Now we have just heard the National has been cancelled and our planned rally for the coming weekend is also in doubt - and I feel like we haven't been away in the van for months !!!!

It is such a let down about the National that I now feel a bit lost and can't find the enthusiasm for looking for something else to do. Hopefully with everyone else being in the same boat, we will get something organised sooner rather than later. If not, I can see OH being on the golf course for the duration and I'll be out in my garden. Is it also true...that if you don't use it, you lose it ? It does feel a bit like that, the less you go away - the less you can be bothered ! Oh come on sun, give us a long hot summer soon and get us all enthusiastic again PLEASE !
