First Time at The National Rally

This story happened on: 05/06/2013

We have had 39 years' enjoyable membership of the Club, starting with one, then two babies, later growing up to no longer come with us.  We have used both CLs and Club sites, but never fancied rallies.  However, one of us joining the Caravan Club Concert Band last year has led to us going on Band rehearsal rallies, the Welsh National ladst year and, recently, "The National" Rally.  We were very impressed overall with the efficient organisation of everything - well done to all - particularly the unpaid volunteers.

There are just a couple of points for future consideration to make matters even better:

1. The signs to the site.  The green gate sign started with another (red?) but was then lost, leading to confusion.  This was reported to the gate marshal on our early arrival on Thursday, but did not appear to have been improved when we went out later on Saturday.  Perhaps the signs should be checked by someone who does not know the way!

2. The toilet / grey water disposal tanks are rather high to lift a full wheeled waste water tank.  The club has removed kerbstones at Club sites in recognition of this problem.  As a fit pensioner I was only just able to lift mine, so suspect others would not have managed.  A ramp is suggested.

If you pop over to Discussions Flexibase, both these suggestions have been made there too - along with a few others.

Glad you had a good time, see you at Arley next year Laughing
