You can't go to France without stopping at Disney

This story happened on: 08/04/2017

... not if you've got my kids in the motorhome with you.

So we set off at the crack of dawn, Disney bound.

After 3 1/2 hours of driving we finally arrived at my children's favourite sign, 'Bienvenue' with a picture of Mickey Mouse!

It was a scorching hot day and the atmosphere was enchanting. Disney characters aplenty walking around the park wishing you a fun packed day and rides that blew our minds!

The best ride of the day by consensus was the refreshed Star Tours 3D ride. A 3D adventure through your favourite scenes from the movies.

We only managed to stay in the park for 9 hours (lightweights I hear you cry), but after a hearty 'all-you-can-eat' buffet at the Hotel Cheyenne we headed back to our motorhome that was parked conveniently at the park.

On entering the park we were told that we could actually stay on site : )

Well you would have had to bring in Darth Vader himself and 20 storm troopers to get my kids to leave. The thought of staying the night in the motorhome at Disney was one that they certainly didn't want to miss.

This amazing adventure could only be limited by one thing. The 6am alarm that went off the next morning to make sure we made it in time to catch our ferry back to England.

Our last 3 hour drive through the continent ended at the Calais Ferry Port where we boarded the 10.45am sailing back to Dover.

It ran like clockwork from the moment we entered the port to the moment we disembarked.

Unfortunately, reality set in. Our Italian adventure had come to an end. Homeward bound to return our motorhome to its new home in Bedfordshire, where it would see further adventures with other families we reminisced about the best bits of our trip.

All I can say is, if you are even slightly tempted to give it go... then give it a go, because you won't regret it.

From start to finish it was an adventure that can't easily be put into words.

All I know is that this will be the adventure we keep with us as a family for many years to come, thinking back on how we once slowed down time, got back to nature and enjoyed each other's company without any of the distractions of everyday life.

So are you and your family converts? Will you be doing motorhome or caravan trips again? If you all enjoyed it as much as you have related here - you'd be mad not too 😉
