Interesting neighbours

This story happened on: 14/04/2012

You can meet some really interesting people when staying at caravan sites. On one occasion I was pitched next to a retired couple who had a large, new motorhome, which I admired. They told me that they had retired, and had sold their home, in anticipation of moving to the south of the USA to buy a property near one of their grown-up children and her family. Unfortunately everything had gone wrong, as the daughter and family had an unexpected change in their life, and were returning to the UK. So, until the retired couple could find a property that they liked in the area they wished to live in, they had invested in a large motorhome, and were living in it- they were moving site every three weeks as required by the CC rules, but were coping with their temporary lifestyle.

I wondered how many people do this sort of thing, or even more adventurously, do a 'Jimmy Saville' and live in a motorhome permanently? It did make me wonder if I might sell my house, and become a permanent motorhomer, but I decided against it.
