Car and van matching

After replying to a post regarding drivers not using towing mirrors it reminded me of outfits I have seen on sites. I am sure most of you will have seen similar issues,you look at a persons van then their car and think surely they are never towing that big van with that car. Wrong they are you can tell just by looking if it is'nt a match if you have studied various vehicles kerb weights. My window cleaner has been caravanning for at least 3 years he had a small citreon estate car which he towed with. We normally have a chat about his outings when he comes to clean the windows, one month last July I was not here to pay him so I popped round his house with the money I was flabberghasted  to see this enormous Hobby caravan. Next time he came to clean the windows I mentioned about the 85% rule he said he had never heard of it,I gave him an old copy of pratical caravan magazine that always has the towing rules and regulations in the mag. Next time I saw him he thanked me and said he had changed to a big Audi that brought him a match. Jim
