Common sense or motor movers

This story happened on: 14/03/2012

When I went to get my motorhome out of storage yesterday I seen the most pathetic biit of caravan parking ever.As the battery was flat I took the jump leads to start it up, I was parked in front of my van when a young couple came in to put their caravan back in storage, he pulled into a empty pitch opposite his space but one down, big caravan big four 4x4.He had just drove through a large empty area he could have done a complete circle in, as soon as he pulled in I said to OH he will never get that in from there as his car was between two caravans with no room to manouver and the back end of the caravan was to close to the one next to his space for any leeway. I started my van and we sat there for over 30 mins. waiting to get out while he shunted back and forward about a yard each way eventually getting himself wedged in. I went over suggested he unhitched and we tried to push the van back, we got it back far enough for him to get his car out and hitch up from the other side in the open area. I suggested he invest in a motor mover and we quickly nipped out the gap before he hitched up again.  Jim

Jim,

Unfortunately a lot of people don't have any common sense and will struggle and struggle and get themselves into a right pickle. And the longer they are struggling the less likely they are to ask for help. And this is where 'small' accident occur. I admit, men are usually the culprits on this one. If you struggle with the reversing manoeuvre get a motor mover i say. £600 pounds on a motormover is better than a heavy repair bill and a ruined holiday.  Add those two things together and it will be a lot more that a cheap motormover.

And a lot less back and shoulder troubles too!

Dear anyone,  Over 70 years of camping and caravanning I must have done everything wrong. I am still learning but hope to continue being an idiot at times as a good example to those who still hope for perfection.
