A Caravan Cat-flap

This story happened on: 06/07/2023

Having allowed our cats to accompany us on their caravan holidays, we decided that we could improve the experience for all concerned by providing an easy-access-caravan-cat-flap.

Our Bailey Pegasus 2 (Milan) is ideal, as it has an access hatch designed for an additional onboard water tank.  This in turn, opens into the main cabin through a small door.

To provide some human control, a string passes into the cabin to allow the outside hatch to be raised and lowered at will.

No more disturbed nights, for the cats can come and go as they please.

Incidentally they know when they are well-off and so can be relied upon to return to their caravan. Obviously we take care when selecting our (CL) site and try to position the van near a hedge or open field.

Just in case we do need to find them quickly, each has a small tracker on their collars.

Thanks for telling that story. I'm planning to work in campsites where I'm allowed to live with my cat, and I was wondering if I could fit a cat flap or perhaps to choose a caravan model that already has a hole connecting the cabin with the exterior. it's good to know that there are some caravans having it.
