Camping Lac du Maine Angers

On our way home from theDordogneabout 20 years ago we were looking for an overnight stop on our way toCherbourg.

Using the CC Euro book we tried a site inAngers. Camping Lac dMaine.

We have been back about 10 times since for anything from overnight to 3 weeks.

It’s not the most luxurious site that we have stayed on but it is clean, fairly quiet and accessible.

What we like most about it is that it is in a country park with miles (sorry kilometres) of cycle tracks, there is a beautiful lake with a swimming area as well as the whole range of water sports, easy access to the city, which is fabulous and a good base for seeing both the western Loire chateaux and the coast around Guerande and Nantes.

Ideal for families.

Beautiful pool on site. Huge supermarket near by. Fantastic Saturday market in the City.

The only drawback that we have come across is the occasional group of lone teenagers.
