A Tale of 3 sites

This story happened on: 28/06/2023

Been Carvanning since I was a toddler, 77 now,

We go away for months at a time in our Campervan

Present membership started in 2004 But have been a member before.

Not happy with the present Regime running the Club.

1st site Borrowdale  lovely Wardens (note NOT Site Managers) no facilties but glorious location  well stocked site shop Milk  Bread ,Eggs everything you might  need for your stay plus of course Calor gas available.NO WiFi but that was the decision of the present Regime scrappingAir Angel BEFORE having their replacement in place...a Crazy executive decision when everythingIs being forced online.???

2nd Site  New England Bay  Dumfries and Galloway Again no WiFi  AND new this year NO SITE SHOP for Milk,Bread Eggs  or kiddies ice creams And NO CALOR GAS. NEAREST SHOP 5 miles away!

Halfway through holiday half of the Toilet facilities are closed...........to save money ! We are told

As we trek 200 extra yards  to the facilties thar ARE open.  Place is still beautiful as ever but get the feeling that Members have become a necessary  evil, rather than the very reason for the Clubs existence??? Am I wrong ?

3rd Site Lady Margaret's Park Chirk   after rebuild of the toilet block . AGAIN  no site shop of any description  NO Milk, no Bread, no newspapers no  ice creams for the kiddies (although there is a new play park)!   Large dog exercise field/rally field  is closed and locked. NO WIFI  and silly 'fast trak' site entry which causes confusion and resentment. No Calor gas.

In Short  a sorry tale of area Manager incompetence  at both areas and very user unfriendly Regime at recently stayed at sites

Exception is Borrowdale  which is a beacon of hope in the chaos of other so called 'beacon'  Club sites.
