Les 7 Isles France

This story happened on: 18/07/2023

Well, not sure where to start! Initially we booked to stay at a fantastic site near Cherbourg which we planned out well, booked online through the club, booked ferry from Poole to Cherbourg (£650) so we would only have a very short drive in France (we were Travelling from central Scotland). This was all booked early May with travel dates 14th July. Mid June the club phone and say sorry, the site you booked is fully booked and we cannot proceed as planned (and confirmed by the club). That left us in a pickle but the club tried to get us something else! Well stuff happens and I was open to suggestions. With only 4 weeks left to our travel dates what options did we have!! A few sites were offered and the closest we could get to Cherbourg was the Les 7 Isles, now we had a 4 hour drive instead of 1 hour to our original site. I was willing to accept as we were between a rock and a hard place. The pictures of the site look great but that is were that myth ends. The site is cramped, beach has “some” sandy areas, Wi-Fi is not free, there is 1, yes 1 fresh water tap, no cash line facilities for 20 miles, staff really don’t care much (unless you are French) the pool is absolutely tiny, toilets, showers etc.. are in very poor condition, the road leading into the site is tiny, our Motorhome is 7.3 x 2.3 and I found it difficult just to stay within lane. So disappointed and feeling so let down by the club. Why can they accept and confirm a booking (fully paid) and then be let down so bad. Well we are here now and having driven over 1200 miles now what else can we do! Wish we had just stayed at home now, so depressed on this site but just keeping face for my wee boy who is disabled and trying to give him the best of a very bad situation.

Sorry to hear. I have been looking for next year 2024 and links to sites from the club just seem to say no availability and I gave up looking.. So back to ASCI which i normally use anyway.
