Weather cancellations

This story happened on: 13/07/2012

It's such a shame that the weather is causing so much chaos with bookings.  We've just had a phone call to warn us that as we have a motorhome, a hardstanding pitch cannot be guaranteed and on reflection, we have had to cancel.  We are lucky in the fact that we are retired, therefore we will be able to visit our chosen area (Pembroke) in the future when the weather improves (hopefully!!) but feel desparately sorry for all those who have fixed holidays.  We have rebooked but are obviously aware that the Caravan Club will be losing out on the grass pitches which are unable to be used.  Undoubtedly, prices for next year will rise, but I feel that the Club sites still represent good value for money and long my they continue to do so.

Why should you havbe a hardstanding just because you have a motorhome?

I have just been to a site with a caravan and had to set up on a muddy waterlogged pitch because all the hard standings were being reserved for motorhomes. As soon as a hardstanding became available the site warden coned it off ready for a motorhome. We all pay exactly the same for the site so why are caravans discriminated against.?
