Challenge 25 - Go Geocaching and leave a caravan related cache for others to find

We have tried geocaching before as part of our One Hundred Family Adventures and enjoy the excitement of a treasure hunt. There are hundreds of geocache locations around the country but we attempted this challenge in Cornwall. We met up with family in Wadebridge and using a smartphone and a Geocaching app we identified spots in the centre of the town. The first location was on a bridge and even with twelve of us looking we were unable to find the ‘tiny’ cache so headed to the next nearest spot.

The second cache we were looking for was hidden behind a drainpipe in a side street! This time we were more successful and managed to find the cache quite quickly.

The third location was further out of town. We wandered up and down a street, avoiding ‘muggles’ until we spotted the cache. Since it was a larger cache we were able to leave our caravan related cache inside. We were not sure what to leave and spent time thinking about what we could leave before setting off. In the end we left a piece of wire wool – not the most exciting piece of treasure but something small and handy(for cleaning a tow bar ball)  that can fit in a small box!
