Ireland touring the South

Hello
Following our recent trip to Ireland I have a few comments I thought may help any members thinking of going there. Firstly thank you to the club for all our ferry and site bookings and being so helpful. Be prepared for a journey you think won’t take long to take some time on Irish roads. We only came across 2 lay-bys and those were on the motorway from Limerick to Dublin so you may need to pull into a fuel station if you need to stop. The minor roads are indeed very bumpy but thanks to Baileys cupboards we did not have cupboards flying open as everyone told us they would but most of the N roads were very good and fairly quiet. Sites were lovely and the locals were pleasant and helpful but when they tell you the office is open until late that normally means you wait by the office until someone bothers to come and book you in, in fact at our last site in Kilkenny we were told to just go and pitch up and come back when the boss was there to book in. We will definitely be returning to Ireland to see some of the parts we didn’t get to this time but we do know that it’s unlikely we will get the lovely sunny weather we had this time
Thanks again for all the booking help

Dorothy

Thank you for posting, useful information. I am of two minds whether it might be better moved to the Discussion area where I expect more people would, no doubt, see it. Is there any chance you could post some photographs? All you need do is to add them to a reply.

Thanks

David
