Welcoming Whitewater

This story happened on: 10/07/2013

Decided to go at the last minute (well, a few days before) 5-7 July and the site staff just managed to squeeze us on. The weather was outstanding as was the pollen level but we arrived to a warm welcome at a busy busy site where other sould might have appered frazzled. The Saturday was a case of turning lemons into lemonade. A trip to York to visit the National Railway Museum and see those beautiful streamlined locomotives was rewardred with the site of thousands of people queueing in the blazing sun; time for a rethink. Found Plunkets eaterie near the Minster , had a nice unhurried and uncrowded family lunch followed by a good explore of the old city. I discovered that the Railway Museum had 11,000 footfall that day- never been so busy -ever. Sunday just so realxing being together as a family away from tv, phones and emails. Visit Whitewater, rather pleasant!
