Caravan and Motorhome Club awarded 5 Star Defaqto rating

The Caravan and Motorhome Club continues to set the benchmark for motorhome and campervan insurance, retaining its awarded Expert-rated 5 Star Defaqto status for the fourth consecutive year, having first received the top rating in 2023, as tourers increasingly look for clear, comparable, and comprehensive insurance.

Through the Defaqto Comparison Tool on the Club’s website, tourers can compare the Club’s Motorhome and Campervan Insurance alongside up to 16 other providers, helping them assess cover levels and key features quickly and confidently. The tool, developed in partnership with financial product and market intelligence firm Defaqto, allows users to view policies side by side and understand how they measure up against Defaqto’s independently set benchmarks.

The Caravan and Motorhome Club’s Motorhome and Campervan Insurance remains Expert-rated 5 Star by Defaqto, recognising it as one of the most comprehensive policies available in the market.  The policy continues to stand out for being open to tourers of all ages, offering reassurance and flexibility for a wide range of members.

Using the comparison tool, members can select and compare up to two additional providers from a drop-down list of 16 motorhome and campervan insurance products. The comparison covers 26 key features and benefits, including key cover, replacement vehicle options, panoramic windscreen cover, gas bottle replacement and access to a 24-hour helpline.

When comparing foreign use cover, the Club’s policy provides cover for driving in the EU and associated countries for up to 365 days per policy year. Following an insured incident, and subject to availability, members whose vehicles are repaired by an approved repairer may also be provided with a courtesy car during the repair period.

Additional benefits include cover of up to £5,000 for clothing and personal belongings, up to £1,000 towards replacement locks or keyless entry systems, and overnight accommodation costs of up to £150 per night for 10 nights if a vehicle becomes unusable following an accident.

Members switching to the Club’s Motorhome, Campervan or Car  Insurance can also benefit from a minimum £25 saving against their current provider’s quoted renewal premium.*
