Longleat Caravan Club Site wins Park of the Year in Caravan Times Awards

02/02/2015

Longleat Caravan Club Site, Warminster, Wiltshire, come top and York Beechwood Grange Caravan Club Site following hotly on its heels.

The Club’s Longleat site is popular with Club members, because of its fantastic location on the Longleat Estate and this year it opens again on 20 March all the way through to mid-January 2016, to allow visitors to take in the delights of site and the Estate at Christmas and New Year. This site has 164 pitches and welcomes both Club members and non-member tourers. As well as the famous Safari Park, the Estate offer glorious, woodland walks.

York Beechwood Grange Caravan Club Site is another busy site; sitting in the open countryside near York, it provides the perfect base for those wishing to visit the city. Also opening from March 2015 until min-January next year the site has 112 pitches spread across 11 acres and also welcomes non-members who wish to visit Yorkshire’s varied attractions.

Of the Awards, Caravan Times said, “The importance of the Park of the Year category was pretty evident, with so many nominations for different parks received. It took an age to whittle down which park should take home the coveted title of Park of the Year.  But there could only be one winner, and that was Longleat Caravan Club Site.”

Caravan Times continued, “The Longleat Site is a worthy winner.Where else could you rest comfortably within the confines of your own caravan or motorhome whilst listening to the roar of lions from the nearby Longleat Safari Park? Well, once you're over the initial shock of hearing them for the first time that is.”

Director General of The Caravan Club, Nick Lomas, says “Both of these sites are real jewels in The Club’s sites network crown and it is great to see that Caravan Times readers appreciate them too. The old adage ‘Location, Location, Location’ is definitely true for these two sites.Longleat sits on an estate with the safari park nearby, which is great for families. While York is a popular city for visitors and those who enjoy cycling and walking, with the site only a 30-minute leisurely cycle away from the city.”
