Matt Baker will open The Caravan and Motorhome Show

The Caravan Club’s new motto ‘Share our passion for the great outdoors’ says it all, that caravanning isn’t simply about taking a holiday in a caravan or motorhome but is an opportunity to get outside as a family to enjoy your favourite pastimes, such as cycling, surfing, walking or exploring the UK.
TV and Radio presenter Matt Baker will officially declare this year’s Caravan & Motorhome Show in Manchester, as ‘open’, sharing his passion for the great outdoors on the first morning of the Show, which is Caravan Club Day.
As a two time BAFTA winning presenter, Matt’s love of the countryside is sure to help encourage families to explore all that the UK has to offer and prove popular with the show visitors.
Of caravanning he says, “Caravan holidays are a great way for families to get closer to nature, and can allow people of all ages to experience the great outdoors. For children simple pleasures like rock-pooling, climbing trees and just getting muddy are all part of the attraction of caravanning. Growing up on a farm meant I was lucky enough to always be outdoors and this has continued to be one of my passions.”
Matt will open the show at 10.30am on Thursday 15 January from The Caravan Club Stand 3:15 – 3:17 and will be talking about The Club’s launch of Tourer Explorer, its initiative for families to help engage the next generation of caravanners. Tourer Explorer will see 65 of The Club’s sites geared towards family activity.
Two new cartoon mascots, a boy and a girl, who both like exploring, are yet to be named by children of Club members, but will feature heavily in The Club Magazine, in activity books, on sites and in their own merchandise range.
Of the initiative, Director General of The Caravan Club, Nick Lomas, says, “The Caravan Club has many family members and is keen to spread the word to many more who may not have considered the option. Caravanning is great for everyone, especially those looking to get out and about with children or participate in their outdoor interests.”
