Motorhome and Campervan Design and Lightweight Leisure Awards 2026
18/02/2026
The results of the twenty-seventh Caravan and Motorhome Club Motorhome and Campervan Design Awards, sponsored by MAN, were announced today. MAN Truck & Bus is a leading European manufacturer of commercial vehicles, with its award-winning MAN TGE forming the foundation of a wide range of high-quality motorhomes. The results of the twenty-second Lightweight Leisure Awards were also revealed.
Judging took place during the Caravan, Camping & Motorhome Show at the NEC in February and via desktop assessment prior to viewing the motorhome and campervan vehicles.
One hundred and five vehicles were submitted for the Motorhome and Campervan Design Awards and forty-one vehicles were entered in the Lightweight Leisure Awards. These Competitions provide the best quality, and quantity, of information to members and buyers.
The motorhome and campervan vehicles went through a rigorous desk based evaluation prior to the judges going to the show. The expert panel collectively spent over one thousand hours going through an immense amount of data from websites, brochures, handbooks and entry forms to complete in-depth evaluations via desktop.
The entries were thoroughly assessed against an extensive criteria including security, electrics, bed sizes, solar panels, kitchen, washrooms, heating, leisure batteries, technical aspects, USB sockets and entertainment. The vehicles were also evaluated regarding mechanical specifications, ISOfix points, number of seat belts provided, ease of parking assist technology and driver’s aids.
At the Caravan, Camping & Motorhome Show at the NEC, the judges then viewed the vehicles to complete this comprehensive judging process.
Similarly, Judges for the Lightweight Leisure Awards assessed everything from weights and measures to Thermal Insulation Grade and recommended tyre pressures. Further scrutiny awarded merit for build quality, setting up on campsite, together with sleeping and living accommodation.
Nick Lomas, Director General of the Caravan and Motorhome Club, said, “Our warmest congratulations go to this year’s winners across the Motorhome and Campervan Design Awards and the Lightweight Leisure Awards. We are grateful to our industry partners fortheir
ongoing support and for continuing to showcase innovation and excellence within the sector. The insights gathered through the judging process remain invaluable in helping existing and prospective members choose the right vehicle for their touring needs. My thanks also go to our dedicated judging panel, whose expertise and thorough assessment of the entries ensure these awards continue to set a high benchmark for the industry.”

Justine Higgins
A lifelong caravanner and camper, Justine discovered campervanning during a four-month tour of Europe with her husband and has been hooked ever since. Now, 15 years later, and with a family, they love nothing more than setting off an adventure in the UK or abroad. After studying History and English literature at University, then 20 years as a HR manager, Justine turned her passion for the outdoors, travel and campervans into a career as a freelance writer. She is a regular contributor to magazines documenting her travels, giving practical advice and reviewing campsites. Justine is a member of the Caravan Writer’s Guild.
Martin Dorey MBE

Martin Spencer
A degree-qualified engineer, Martin’s been Club Technical Manager for over 25 years overseeing practical advice for members while undertaking extensive industry engagement, government consultations and work on national/international standards development. His knowledge is underpinned by caravanning since the age of seven around most of the UK and Western Europe, and most recently motorhoming in Australia.

Lightweight Leisure Trailer Judges:

He has a keen interest in caravan design, owning a small collection of vintage caravans from the 1960s – 1980s which he has restored himself. His grandparents first joined the CAMC over 50 years ago, and he still has the little 1966 Sprite 400 caravan that they joined the Club with way back then. With a lifetime of caravanning experience both in the UK and Europe, he’s a great addition to the judging panel. Cameron also tours with a roof tent and enjoys glamping breaks.
James Lewis
Having grown up camping in traditional ground tents, James moved into the world of overlanding utilising vehicular based solutions to allow him to explore more easily. Building and improving upon a vehicle built from the ground up over years with the sole purpose to allow James to travel, cook, camp and relax all in great comfort. Using different products and being willing to experiment with new innovations in the market whilst travelling the length of the UK and across Europe has given James vast experience in the industry as a consumer.
Jules Mark

With a background in early years education as a Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator (SENDCO), Jules understands the needs of young families when choosing the right camping gear. Now, with her children grown, she enjoys touring in her small caravan with her husband. Recent trips include a three-week tour of the NC500 in Scotland and a six-week European adventure, along with local weekend getaways.
