La Citadelle

Why stay here ...

La Citadelle is a small and tidy campsite situated on the banks of the Indre river.

It is just a stroll away from the stunning town of Loches with its royal citadelle, cobblestone streets and markets. 

A perfect spot to stay for a few days to discover this wonderful place, the courageous can climb up to the summit of the Medieval dungeon and marvel at the historical Renaissance architecture surrounded by green hills and countryside.

Montrésor, one of the most beautiful villages of France with its château of the Count Branicki, is only 17 kms away.

Enjoy the cycle paths in the National forest of Loches, visit local gardens, especially the well known rose gardens at Chédigny with its 1000 rose bushes. The museum at Grand Pressigny is full of discoveries for history lovers. 

Slightly further afield you can find many of the Châteaux of the Loire like Chenonceau and Amboise and the Zoo de Beauval for a family day out.

Onsite there is a small indoor and outdoor pool with a restaurant /snack bar and small shop selling local products. 

Table tennis and a mini club for the kids with some musical light entertainment in the high season makes this site attractive to couples and families alike.
