Why stay here ...
Located in a tranquil area of the Cabo de Gata Natural Park, the site is surrounded by palm trees and close to magnificent stretches of desert-like coastline. This peaceful, friendly site is popular with British guests thanks to its neat, gravel pitches, which are separated by hedges and have plenty of shade, and its clean facilities. An excellent shop, restaurant and bar are open year-round and set close to the swimming pool.
Bird watchers will enjoy a trip to Salinas de Acosta, which is home to flocks of flamingos, among other birds. There are walking and cycling opportunities in the Natural park, while San Jose has a beautiful cove and impressive marina with some excellent restaurants serving Andalusian dishes and wines from La Mancha.

Worth a visit
Cabo de GataAlmeria Campsites (and Plastic Greenhouses)
Cabo de GataHi, Sept 2017. Didnt stop on site but did a drive in visit. No comment therefore as to facilities. Approach is passing plastic greenhouses and run down scrubland. Decent walk to any shops. Almeria region is now totally blighted by the Plastic Greenhouse and their Horticulture. Have a read and view pictures on here :- https://www.ecowatch.com/europes-dirty-little-secret-moroccan-slaves-and-a-sea-of-plastic-1882131257.html This site is on the fringe of the greenhouses as it is in the National Park area so has been spared a bit. Dry region, plenty of sunny days. We would consider shorter stay in this region only but you may like it. Almeria's relatively quiet Airport is nearby. Reasonably tedious drive from the Motorway to access. Google search the area carefully beforehand. There are few Campsites in this region which is maybe why CMC are including these in listings.
Comment from the Site:
The Almeria region is renowned for its plastic greenhouses which grow fresh fruit and vegetables which can be seen on the way to the campsite
Wall to wall Brits!
Cabo de GataDon't get me wrong I love my countymen as much as the next man but when I go abroad I like to meet other cultures. The site itself was very crowded and the pitches were small. Surrounded on 1 side by the oft mentioned plastic greenhouses and the other by scrubland it is not the most beautiful of places to stay. Walking to the beach takes 30 mins and that is nice but that's about it unless you drive out. The facilities were generally good but with the extra metered electricity charge (11 euros for 2 nights!), this was the most expensive site on our trip by far. One to avoid in the future.
