Why stay here ...

Situated in the heart of the Rioja winemaking region, this attractive site on the outskirts of Haro is well-managed with excellent facilities. It’s a quiet destination that gets busier at weekends and in summer, and is perfect for those looking to explore the region and enjoy the local wines.

Pitches vary in size and are separated by lush green trees and shrubs. The amenities are kept to a high standard and include a lovely outdoor swimming pool and a bar and restaurant serving a good selection of food.

The small town of Haro is a delight, being easily walkable and offering plenty of restaurants, bars and shops. Great Site

De Haro
It was fairly busy when we stayed in late July for 5 nights but it was calm and quiet and we did not feel packed in although the pool did get very full at times. As others have said the Town has many attractions and we also explored a little further afield on bikes, by foot and we managed to find a Kayaking trip (Oja Sport) which was good. Other campers were mostly Spanish who were friendly as were the staff; our pitch was spacious enough for our motrhome plus 3 and all facilites were very clean and working fine.Lots of seasonal pitches but we like that as it keeps sites quieter and it usually means lots of locals which sort adds character. All in all a very enjoyable start to our holiday.

Convenient overnight stop

De Haro
We used this site as a one night stop as it’s only a couple of hours drive from Santander. We had a choice of (grass) pitch which was plenty big enough. There’s only 6 amp electricity but it’s adequate if you use gas for cooking and heating. The toilet blocks are older but clean. The reception staff were very friendly and gave us a map of the town showing the local restaurants and bodegas, but they also sell the local wine on site at good prices. Mercadona is a short walk away which is very useful if you’ve just come off the ferry and need to stock up with fresh food. We happily stay here on our way to/from the Mediterranean; it’s worthy of a longer stop but we come to Spain for the warm sunny weather - and it’s not very warm in Haro in February!

EARLY SPRING 2022

De Haro
Nice site with a rather strange cafe type bar/ restaurant. Good size pitches and clean facilities. Easy walk into Haro town centre with its shops, bars and restaurants Two plus points for us; 1. Walk to Haro and all of the wineries 2. Good place to stop enroute to Santander.

6 amp electricity only fit for lighting

De Haro
We used this site for a Bilbao stopover, perfectly located but pitch was too small for a medium size twin axle (Crusader Storm) and access was tight. 6 amp electricity would not even run a camping kettle let alone a fridge so had to revert to gas, if going back would insist on 10 amp Was an event on during our stopover with loud music until late and lots of teenagers, but stopped before midnight, also we were there during the Rioja wine festival so lots going on locally Overall impression was this is a good site, friendly staff and worth more than a one night stopover if you can get a pitch with decent electricity

Second visit-good site

De Haro
This was our second visit to Haro, once again as a stopover en-route to the ferry. Nothing has changed in the intervening 4 years. Maybe the pool has been improved, parts looked quite newly 'done'- can't be sure because we didn't use it last time. Friendly helpful staff, cheery restaurant and Haro remains an attractive town to visit. NB I think it is cheaper to buy wine at reception than in the town shops or at the bodegas - just saying.
