Volunteer on our sites

We’re always looking for volunteers to help on our sites – from painting fences and general DIY to assisting in the office - you’d be a great help in supporting the site wardens.

Day-to-day tasks include:

  • painting, weeding and tidying
  • light gardening
  • hanging baskets and flower boxes
  • meeting and greeting visitors
  • DIY and maintenance
  • special projects like creating dog walks or picnic areas

Where you’ll be volunteering

Generally, we try to offer you a site that is within a 50 mile radius of your home town. The site may be within a few miles of your home, so you may not need to take your outfit.

Staying on site

If you wish to take your caravan or motorhome with you, a free pitch may be offered if the work you’re doing requires you to stay overnight.

Volunteers on site are able to stay up to 21 consecutive nights - which is the same for all members.

Travel expenses

We’ll reimburse you for the mileage costs and other travel expenses you may have, including toll bridge charges.

What about becoming a Volunteer Warden?

We also have a group of volunteer wardens who operate and run these ‘service point only’ sites:

  • Aberbran, Wales
  • Slinfold, West Sussex

Volunteer Wardens usually work for at least two consecutive weeks. Slinfold will require two couples to cover at a time. Volunteer Wardens will receive full training to run a site on a day-to-day basis.

Tasks include:

  • meeting, greeting and booking in of members on site
  • dealing with telephone calls
  • end of month accounts
  • ground maintenance
  • painting
  • liaising with staff at Head Office

How to apply to be a Volunteer Warden

As these volunteers are organised by the local region, if you’d like to enquire, please send your details and which site you’d like to volunteer for to our Regional Chairman - mark your envelope ‘Volunteer Warden’:
