Tranquility in a pretty location

Ivy Farm
What a lovely CL We stayed here 2 nights late March 2024 Friendly welcome. Easy access from the road through Swaffham Prior - a pretty village in its own right Quiet, restful days, just what we needed to recover after a hectic few days Would certainly stay again!

Peaceful site that you can use to cycle into Cambridge via cyclepaths

Ivy Farm
Lovely place very welcoming and quiet. You can use it as a base to cycle into Cambridge via the cycle paths. Flat and very quiet place - you could hear owls at night

Great for a no frills stopover

Ivy Farm
Lovely little site if you are not bothered about any amenities, nice to see the free range hens at the farm when we arrived, ideal place for a stopover (we were going to Newmarket to see the horses on the gallops) if you are self contained you have everything you need including a nice little area to take your dogs for a quick walk. Lovely little site, well worth supporting.

A lovely site in a great location

Ivy Farm
We have just returned from a lovely break at Ivy Farm in Swaffham Prior. There is a pub within walking distance, along with regular buses to Cambridge and local access to lots of walking routes. The site is in a very quiet rural position on the edge of the village, with a well mown, flat field, on a farm/smallholding complete with goats, pigs and chickens. The owners are very friendly, informative and welcoming and the site had everything that we needed (water, waste disposal), and nothing that we didn't (we don't do big sites..). Only cash or cheque payment is taken, as I am sure anyone reasonable would expect of a small CL. We highly recommend this site and we look forward to returning.

An absolute gem of a basic no frills site

Ivy Farm
We stopped here for 3 nights whilst our little 'Bonnie' (a rescued Cocker Spaniel ex breeding bitch) received urgent surgery at a specialist referral veterinary hospital some miles away. The site is located behind the timber framed farm house that John and his Swedish wife are in the process of renovating. Tilda their dog does occasionally pay you a visit which can be a bit of a pain, however she soon knew that her pressence wasn't exactly welcomed by our dogs and from then on kept well away. Twice daily their heard of goats are herded through the field from their daytime pasture area to their overnight shelter and all of the young kids make for a beautiful site. It is hoped that fairly soon they will get both a dairy and cheese making licences, but until then sampling some of the test batches of cheese makes for some taste bud enjoyment and as for the gorgeous blue shelled eggs laid by the araucana chickens that quite literally explode with farm yard flavour from the deep ochre yokes mmmmmmmmmmmm. If you are dog walkers, then there are quite literally masses of walks to discover, or if you are into looking around churches then the churches of St Cyriac & St Julitta (https://www.visitchurches.org.uk/visit/church-listing/st-cyriac-and-julitta-swaffam-prior.html) that are right next door to each other are well worth looking around. The simply brilliant and dog friendly Batemans Brewery owned Red Lion pub is only a short walk away from the site, the food there is excellent as are also the selection of award winning beers. Will we be going back to this gem of a site, you can bet your bottom dollar that we will !
