Regular stop off site.

Gravestones CL
Conveniently situated for both a stop off on the M6 and a longer stay, this CL is about 3 mls from Junct.19 along quiet lanes. The site itself lies along a 1/2 long tarmac drive behind the farm in a small sheltered paddock overlooking fields and a small wood. There are 5 quite narrow, but we'll spaced H/S pitches which slope gently to one side so levelling block are a necessity. There is an off road dog walk around the fields leading onto a footpath to Pickmere and it's lake. Opposite the entrance drive a lane leads to Arley Hall and it's Gardens, well worth a visit. There are lots of animals on the farm including goats, horses, hens and Alpacas, which can be taken for walks. There are also tents for glamping in the farm grounds. Although generally very quiet the farm is under the flight path of aircraft from Manchester airport so some plane noise can be heard at times. There are lots of places of interest close by, apart from Arley Hall, including Tatton Hall and Park, Anderton Boat Lift and the Flashes at Northwich. There is no close bus service that M/H can use without as long walk.At the moment, due to Covid, one has to text the owners on arrival, and payment can be made by bank transfer or by cash with envelopes supplied at reception. It is a regular site for us travelling both north and south.

Nice basic CL

Gravestones CL
We've just returned from a pleasant weekend at this CL, which we chose due to its proximity to Arley Hall where we had tickets for the Great British Food Festival. It's a typical working farm CL: basic but perfectly adequate. The pitches are nice and level and the field is well-sheltered by a high hedge behind. There's no loo but the water point is handily central to the pitches and the EHU points are fine. The Elsan point is a drain hole covered with a bin lid in the corner of the field - perfectly adequate for the job and was clean when we visited. There are some passing aircraft at times but it didn't bother us - it's quiet at night and we enjoyed using an app to see where the flights were going! We were greeted on arrival by a friendly black and white cat, followed by three chickens who wandered around every day - lovely! We didn't see the human owners but the notice board had clear information on how to pay so we had no need to trouble them otherwise. If we returned to the area in future we would stay again.

Stop over not staycation

Stopped here overnight going south on M6. Positives: easy access to M6. Open view across field. Dog Walking route around the field Level pitches. Negatives: water point is on pitch 3. It’s actually on the pitch. Why?????? If you are a plane spotter it works well. Loud take off Across the field there is a glamping area. We were told the night before was a loud hen party. The power for the glamping field seems to be an extension lead from the ehu. A dog ran on the cl from the farm with intent to attack my dog. I had to chase it away and saw a don’t give a shi@e attitude from the dog owner. I am guessing the dog is the cl owners. It was very aggressive. Working farm. Heavy machinery running all day. Elsan point is disgusting. Worst I have ever seen. Toilet paper on the bin lid used to cover the hole. Yuk. No grey water disposal so you need to use the Elsan point. Didn’t see the owners. Cancelled our booking in the way back Won’t be staying there again.

Great site on working farm.

Had two nights here after leaving Wales on the way North. Great facilities with very clear instructions on payment and facilities. Farm produce available. Great location for our visit to Tatton Park.

Superb and would highly recommend

Gravestones CL
We received a warm welcome from the owner on our arrival. She gave us lots of helpful tips of where to eat and local walks. Hard standing pitches that are well spaced out and an uninterrupted view. This is a working farm and our son enjoyed seeing the chickens, goats and watching the daily alpaca walks. The animal enclosures are spotless as are the pitches. A very enjoyable 2 night stay and would highly recommend. The site is central to several places to visit, on our stay we visited Delamere Forest, Blakemere Village and Cheshire Oaks. Good pub food available close to this site.
