Why stay here ...

A warm friendly  welcome awaits you at Burn Farm Adult Only CL, set on our small working family farm. Our quiet, secluded CL, on the North Devon/Cornwall border is an ideal location for touring both counties with the coastal town of Bude approximately 5 miles away with both sandy beaches and rugged rocky coastline, ideal for both surfers and beach lovers or walkers and siteseers.

Bude itself offers a good range of shops including supermarkets, a leisure pool, bowling alley. leisure centre, a golf course and numerous restaurants and country pubs.

The South West Coastal Path can also be accessed from Bude which takes you either north towards Clovelly or south towards Boscastle and Tintagel. Approximately 7 miles away there is also a small cinema. The Tamar Lakes Country Park is approximately 7 miles away which offers watersports, course fishing and a 3 miles cycle track which can also be walked.

RHS Rosemoor is another popular attraction approximately 20 miles away along with the Eden Project which is approximately 40 miles away. Numerous National Trust Properties are also within easy reach as is Exmoor and Dartmoor and the larger shopping centres of Barnstaple, Plymouth and Exeter. The south coast of Devon or Cornwall is also within easy driving distance, with Looe, for example, being approximately 45 miles away.

The site is adjacent to a large woodland walk which is a haven for wildlife of all kinds and is made up of a wide variety of trees and one of the main reasons many of our visitors return to us year after year. Our visitors are welcome to take their dogs into the woods, as long as they are kept on a lead and all mess picked up, and a dog waste bin is provided at the entrance to the field.

On approaching our farm entrance you will clearly see our Burn Farm sign along with the Club CL sign. The site is down a tarmac drive, with passing places. Please call at the farmhouse (NOT the bungalow) at the bottom of the lane, before entering the site. The site gateway is 11 - 12 feet wide.

Our site is approximately one acre with the first quarter of the field being hardstanding (grass over stone chippings) where metal pegs are required for awnings, which is ideal for motor homes and for wetter weather. This makes us an ideal out-of-season CL.

We offer full recycling facilities and also a ground level chemical disposal point. Information Packs are available for all our visitors and seasonal home grown produce is for sale at the farmhouse.

Golf course less than 5 miles away.

Our site is ideal for bird watching and star gazing and the area is perfect for geocaching and we are geocachers ourselves.

WiFi access is free and subject to availability. If not available at site is available by farmhouse.

Coarse fishing is available on the Bude Canal which is about 4 miles away.

Peace and Quiet

Mandy and Brian were very friendly and we were able to obtain some lovely tomatoes from them. As a working farm I was very pleased to note the boundaries are well marked and the site is situated in its own sheltered field complete with wooded area which is ideal for dog walking. This site was ideal for us, peace and quiet is becoming more and more hard to find and although situated on a working farm, we would not have known if we were not told. A short drive to Bude, (Morrison’s and Lidl Supermarkets). Widemouth Bay is nearby if you take the short route to the coast. Access is very easy with a good mettled road from the B3254 to the site. Excellent “Dark Sky’s” location complete with owls. We are looking forward to our next visit, a real gem for anyone who wants a “no frills” site. Highly recommended

GLAD WE RETURNED AGAIN.

We were so pleased to return to one of the best CL. sites we have been lucky to stay on. This was our forty time at Burn Farm and it was so good to find the standards so high. We were welcomed by Mandy and after a chatty catch up , we set up in glorious sunshine. Unfortunately , the previous few days had been wet and caravans who were there before had not applied common sense. There were tracking ruts in the centre of the field. Not clever. However, with the sunshine and light winds, it all soon dried. Burn Farm is so convenient to so many of North Cornwall's beautiful beaches and attractive countryside. It's only a few minutes drive into Bude where most of essential shopping can be done. We enjoy the peace, beauty, and warm welcome of this site so much and only wish that we could visit more often. Many thanks to our hosts.

Another fantastic stay!

Another fantastic stay on this site!!! Just come back from our summer holiday here again enjoy so much booked for next year! 7 pitches in total 3 of which are hardstanding only 5 ever in use. 2 grass pitches usually recovering so always well spaced out! Dog walk a bonus and kids played football and rugby outside. Owners have always offered a warm welcome and a friendly chat when we crossed paths either at the water tap or on driveway. Local dairy farms sell milk so do enquire as to where to go. Recycling on site is always a bonus. Site is surrounded by hedges and trees we noticed traffic noise until about 9 then it died down. Tv reception is excellent not that we watched much! On arrival we were given a local information pack which was greatly appreciated!!!! Children enjoyed Bude Carnival and other local events. We enjoyed sitting out listening to the Barn owls at night and watching the bats flying about. Access to site is excellent as being a working farm roads are wide. Site Access is monitored by CCTV so security is excellent! Tesco will deliver to shopping to here and a retail park is only a stones throw away in Bude. Local garage on Launceston Road sells most things too. Homeleigh garden centre is just down the road and is currently being extended! We found the fish and chips from Kilkhampton excellent as well as Francine’s in Launceston. The food from The Old Wainhouse on A39 is to die for. Site does sell fresh homegrown produce when available!!! Must be good as we always missed out! Grass on site is always well kept and clippings removed. Although dogs were on site including our own we never actually saw any mess as a waste point for it is provided. Always had a friendly hello from other visitors. Site does state pay on arrival and this unfortunately how lots of CL’s now have to operate due to unscrupulous fellow caravanners! Arrival time on site is 12 noon and departure is the same which is again how most CL’s operate. We endured wet weather and high winds our first week as long as common sense is used and the same spots not driven on the site copes well. Site seems popular as it had a few visitors whilst we were there. We had morning sun on the side of the van and then in the evening sun in the awning which we enjoyed. Noticed site has regular long standing visitors as last years companions were back this year! A really nice family site with excellent access to the surrounding area! Excellent value for money definitely one not to be missed!!! Owners always on hand if there is a problem. Keep threatening the wife we are going at Christmas so we can see the legend that is the Bude Tunnel of light!!!

Not a great experience unfotunatley

After staying on many on CL's all over the country, never have we had to leave early - until we visited Burn Farm! We where due to stay for 7 nights, however, after 2 decided it was time to move on... We arrived early Saturday morning to pay the gentleman on arrival (as requested), and was given our pitch number - first impressions where very good! Nice spaced out, tidy site - very peaceful. Before putting the awning up we had to pick up some dog mess - not a major problem but not ideal. I then emailed Mandy to see if we required a password for the 'wifi' to be advised not and then it was a bit 'iffy' and we could download messages outside the farmhouse if required - again not a problem. In Mandy's reply she requested that the kids who had been playing on their scooters on the farm path would be careful as it was a working farm - the kids are 8 & 10 and we had already made them aware of the fact to be aware of what was going on around them, however, following Mandy's email I decided to ask the boys not to play on their scooters. Mandy also requested we pay ASAP! (not very good when we paid upon arrival) The following day we went out early morning and didn't return until later that day to find our neighbours had left and we had new ones, we said hello and went about our business to then receive a further email requesting our dog is kept on a lead and we pick up all dog mess - she had received a complaint! This was the icing on the cake as already not feeling welcome and having the feeling of being 'watched' we replied advising that we had kept our dog on a lead and always picked up all the mess - we have kids playing and the last thing we want is them standing in dog mess! I requested a refund for the remaining nights from Mandy who advised she was only following up on a complaint! After several more email exchanges Mandy left our money in an envelope outside the farmhouse and requested we collect ASAP and left the site before noon. We immediately packed up and went to a lovely CL in Newquay At no point did Mandy make face to face contact and it was all done via email - not the customer service we expected. This site is ideal for couples, however, family's with dogs I would unfortunately avoid!

A Fantastic Two Weeks!!

We've had the best time here. Thank you for everything! Can't fault your location that's so close to Bude, the clean, tidy spacious site itself, the price per night which includes everything anyone could ask for ( dogs, awning, ehu, free wifi, shaded woodland dog walk ). We would recommend this site to anyone & would love to come back here in the future
