Why stay here ...
A warm friendly welcome awaits you at Burn Farm CL, set on our small working family farm. Our quiet, secluded CL, on the North Devon/Cornwall border is an ideal location for touring both counties with the coastal town of Bude approximately 5 miles away with both sandy beaches and rugged rocky coastline, ideal for both surfers and beach lovers or walkers and siteseers.
Bude itself offers a good range of shops including supermarkets, a leisure pool, bowling alley and childrens indoor playzone, leisure centre, a golf course and numerous restaurants and country pubs.
The South West Coastal Path can also be accessed from Bude which takes you either north towards Clovelly or south towards Boscastle and Tintagel. Approximately 7 miles away there is also a small cinema. The Tamar Lakes Country Park is approximately 7 miles away which offers watersports, course fishing and a 3 miles cycle track which can also be walked.
RHS Rosemoor is another popular attraction approximately 20 miles away along with the Eden Project which is approximately 40 miles away. Numerous National Trust Properties are also within easy reach as is Exmoor and Dartmoor and the larger shopping centres of Barnstaple, Plymouth and Exeter. The south coast of Devon or Cornwall is also within easy driving distance, with Looe, for example, being approximately 45 miles away.
The site is adjacent to a large woodland walk which is a haven for wildlife of all kinds and is made up of a wide variety of trees and one of the main reasons many of our visitors return to us year after year. Our visitors are welcome to take their dogs into the woods, as long as they are kept on a lead and all mess picked up, and a dog waste bin is provided at the entrance to the field.
On approaching our farm entrance you will clearly see our Burn Farm sign along with the Club CL sign. The site is down a tarmac drive, with passing places. Please call at the farmhouse (NOT the bungalow) at the bottom of the lane, before entering the site. The site gateway is 11 - 12 feet wide.
Our site is approximately one acre with the first quarter of the field being hardstanding (grass over stone chippings) where metal pegs are required for awnings, which is ideal for motor homes and for wetter weather. This makes us an ideal out-of-season CL.
We offer full recycling facilities and also a ground level chemical disposal point. Information Packs are available for all our visitors and seasonal home grown produce is for sale at the farmhouse.
Golf course less than 5 miles away.
Our site is ideal for bird watching and star gazing and the area is perfect for geocaching and we are geocachers ourselves.
WiFi access is free and subject to availability. If not available at site is available by farmhouse.
Coarse fishing is available on the Bude Canal which is about 4 miles away.

Followed the directions and found the site without a problem. Mandy greeted us and explained where everything was situated. Unfortunately we arrived during the wettest September I can remember and although the site is partially hardstanding areas were very boggy especially the path to the chem disposal point. Venture ye not in this area without wellies. The surrounding villages are worth exploring if only for their architecture especially worth a look around is Stratton, it has a lovely church, as well as two pubs both selling food, the Kings Arms is the one used by the locals and is very friendly and welcoming the other one is up the hill in the village and is more of an upmarket restaurant but very quaint. One other building which must be visited is the ancient church of St Swithins at Launcells. For a completely different experience visit the newly opened livestock market on the outskirts of Holsworthy there's also a very good cafe attached. Would we stay at this site again, yes without reservation. Hopefully the path to chem point will have been resurfaced by then.

Thank you for your review and we are so pleased you enjoyed your stay. We just wanted to let you know that the path you mention has now been surfaced with stone so will no longer be a problem in wet weather. The CL owners hope to welcome you back soon.
