Ambleside Certificated Locations

Ambleside sits in a spectacular location at the northern end of Windermere, England's largest lake, and is surrounded by magnificent mountainous scenery.

The town centre features tourist attractions ranging from a crazy golf course to the famous Bridge House, a tiny building constructed on a small stone bridge over a stream.

Its proximity to the lake makes it a superb place to enjoy a boat ride, either on one of the large steamers bound for Bowness or on a rowing boat. The northern shore of the lake also features the ruins of the Galava Roman fort.

Short walks include a woodland trek to the Stock Ghyll waterfall, while those who want to put on their boots and try something a little more challenging can enjoy climbing adjacent fells such as Loughrigg, Red Screes or Wandsfell Pike.
