Why stay here ...

A level site, beautiful views and nature all around you! The path to the wash-room is kept mown, and runs between a swathe of grass, dotted with buttercups and other wildflowers. You can choose your own pitch, depending on which view you prefer. Each electric post has a water tap as well as the socket so that you don't have to trundle around the field with a water container.

The washroom contains two showers, two loos, two basins and a sink. At the moment the water and the showers are heated electrically, but we are planning to connect it all up to our woodchip boiler, which was installed in May 2013, and which heats the farmhouse.

Access is straightforward, only a mile off the main road (A3121) along what appears to be a narrow road, but you soon come to a crossroads, and thereafter the road is wider with wide verges for passing if necessary. Because it runs along an ancient ridgeway - along the top of a hill, it is almost flat, so an easy drive. Please do not be tempted to use a Satnav, it is likely to take you right through the village (narrow!) and up a very steep hill - not good for your clutch!

We look forward to welcoming you to this spacious site on our working farm in this tranquil part of South Devon. Please note dogs must be kept under control and on leads.

Please note: We have a Green Fluid Only policy on site:

A superb site

A superb CL, right in the heart of South Devon and all this county has to offer. The site itself for the cost per night has a lot of facilities. Direct water connection on every pitch, pitches are flat, great washing up area, eggs honey etc can be purchased from the farm itself. The only issue I would say is the approach to the site. Yes the directions are great from the owner but not if your an 8foot wide Buccaneer. The ideal approach to the site is through Biddiford, yes it’s steep but the approach is a lot wider

Lovely CL, close to the A38

Super Cl set in a massive well mown, grass field with wonderful views. You arrive via a narrow lane which is thankfully very quiet. There are travellers camped along this lane by the campsite but please don't be put off. They have been there for a number of years and were very quiet. They caused us no concerns whatsoever. The campsite itself is a real gem. There are 5 hook up points with water and they are well spread out, so you have masses of space. You just turn up and choose your pitch. Four are South facing and one is West facing. The South facing ones lose the sun behind a field hedge a little early but you can easily move your chairs out into the field to catch the last of the sun. On the friday of our arrival (in July) you could hear the low hum of traffic on the A38 but this eased off and was not at all disruptive. The site is actually very quiet as it is on a little used lane with farmland all around it. The toilets (2) and showers (2) and washing up sink (1) are across the meadow and are in the owners farmhouse but seperate from their accomodation. Each pitch has its own mown path connecting it to the loos, which is a nice touch. Showers are 20p for 3 minutes and are of a good pressure. There is a recyling point by the exit. We are really loved this site and will be back.

Great Site

We came down and stayed on Hillhead farm for a family event.  This is a large quiet site with really good facilities.  The owners were welcoming and left us to our own devices while on site. The showers and toilets are very well presented and kept.  We will return here again when down that way.

Hillhead Farm, Ugborough

Can't praise this site highly enough. We stayed for a week in July 2014 and had the pick of available pitches which were flat and exceedingly generous. Jane and her husband couldn't have been more helpful. The scenery is stunning and close to all our local haunts like Bigbury Bay and Kingsbridge. Can't wait to go back. Kim & Roy - Redditch

Hillhead Farm, Ugborough

We have stayed on this farm site on several occasions and have found the welcome and amenities very satisfactory. The views are particularly pleasant and the space afforded each caravan is generous. We have found no difficulty on the approach to the site although you have to bear in mind that the access to the site is on a country lane and remember to take a wide swing into the actual farm gate entrance. The water and electricity are handily placed at each pitch and the shower and toilet facilities are clean and tidy. We have no hesitation in recommending this site.
