A little gem!

Willow Pond
We stayed here from 15/03/24 - 19/03/24 in order to visit friends and family close by. The access is down a small country lane, but only a couple of hundred yards off the main road. We have a large 8’ wide caravan twin axle which we easily negotiated the entrance to the site. All information about our pitch was clearly stated on a board at the reception and we found it all well marked out and accessed by a lovely gravelled road. The pitches are all hard standing with electric hook up. There were leads in place to account for guests not having long enough leads to reach the electric posts which was so thoughtful. The hard standing was soft enough to peg an awning in with minimal effort, but remained intact whilst we encountered a strong windy evening! The views from the pitches are all looking at the large pond and bridge which is beautiful. I’ve never had such a lovely vista from the caravan before, and we have been caravanning a long time! The grounds are beautiful with copious lawns and flowers, and there are ducks, geese, and rabbits running around adding to the beauty. At night, the antique lamp posts light the surroundings making it easy to reach your van. All cars are left in the car park after unloading making for a vehicle free area. There are two toilets on site, one gents and one ladies. The ladies is beautifully decorated with a pretty wicker chair to compliment. There is also a separate unisex shower and toilet room with a very large walk in shower. It is a short walk from the CL site to access these, so if you don’t use your own facilities just be aware. The reception has lots of information and owners Emma and Darren are available for any help. You can hear the traffic from the A63, but it’s not a deal breaker! This is a gem of a CL with such pretty surroundings and we hope to return very soon.

A newly extended CL with modern facilities, at a price

Willow Pond
A lovely setting with hard-standing pitches in different areas round a fishing lake. The entrance was quite difficult to find along a narrow country lane with no sign. We arrived out of season at dusk, after phoning ahead, but nobody was around so we found an empty pitch and paid the next morning when Darren turned up, Excellent WC/Shower and a small welcoming kitchen, equipped with tea/coffee making and cooking facilities, though these were a very long walk from our pitch. No laundry. On the downside, there was noise from the adjacent busy A-road, and the price (for a CL on a working farm) came as a shock.

Best CL we've stayed at

Willow Pond

We stayed here as an overnight stop to a festival we were attending near York. When it came time to leave, we wanted to stay for longer ! Emma and Darren were very friendly and helpful, and the setting is so peaceful. We will be returning again later in the year, and staying for a week if possible.

Best CL

Willow Pond
We have been touring by caravan for over 40 years and have been on a fair number of CLs. This is our number one so far. Beautiful site, lots of very special touches. Got to know the native wildlife well over just 4 days. If you want to spend some time in this area, try this site, you will not be disappointed.

What a stunning little gem of a site we have found.

Willow Pond
What an absolute stunning gem of a site. Found the site as we wanted to visit our son and partner and wow. Lovely welcome, great verbal brief of where everything was and the pitch we were provided was second to none. Well maintained, flat and easily accessible. Had a lovely walk round the pond and met some very nice people who was kind enough to provide information on the local area and where is best to eat etc. We are that happy, we have just booked our next stay for July 2023 with Emma. Thank you very much for such a lovely Bank Holiday weekend we really appreciate. Ben and Becky Roberts
