A oasis of peace and quiet

Ryland Grange Farm
Had a one night stop over on our way to Suffolk. We were lucky with the weather, warm and dry and it being the longest day of the year could sit outside with G & T and watch the sun set. A gem of a find. Super friendly hosts, my farming husband loves a stay on a farm and enjoyed a chat about farming with site owners. Well kept pitches, lovely view, quiet. Loved it and recommend it highly

Stopover

Ryland Grange Farm
Had a one night stopover on our way to Norfolk. It is a lovely C.L , spacious, quiet and convenient for the A17 Judith and Stuart are excellent hosts and made sure we knew where all the facilities were located. Having now done a little research and found out many things to do in the area, we will definitely return for a longer visit. The fresh produce available is of great quality and delicious. Would recommend this C.L. for both stopovers and longer visits. It was very refreshing to visit a C.L. where the owners spent time with us as opposed to a fleeting 'hello' or in some cases an honesty box.

Peace and tranquility in the Lincolnshire countryside

Ryland Grange Farm
We used this wonderful CL for a stopover en route to my son's house in Cambridgeshire for his garden party. It was so easy to find, just off the A17 quite close to Cranwell RAF college. We couldn't have been made more welcome by both Judith and Stewart the site owners. Access was easy via a long, well surfaced, farm track into a lovely flat field with all facilities close at hand. I found it hard to believe that we were the only caravan on the site. We were so impressed that we decided to revisit on our return journey for an extra couple of nights. We were able to walk our little Yorkie along a network of tracks around the farm fields and on our very first outing we were treated to a sighting of an adult Roe Deer with a fawn. There is a paddock with a stone circle and a large pond next to the site with some mature Walnut trees around the perimeter. Personally I am an aeroplane fanatic and I was keen to visit Bomber Command near Lincoln. To my dismay this attraction is not open on Mondays. As an alternative we took a trip to the coast at Chapel St Leonards. The trip took about an hour but was well worth it with a lovely dog friendly beach and some nice little cafes. We actually took a little longer than an hour as we visited Ivy's Farm Shop further down the A17 on our way. They have a number of Alpacas and some goats to entertain the children. We bought some lovely fresh vegetables and a delicious Steak pie there. We shall return to this CL again in the future and this time we hope to visit both Bomber Command and Cranwell Aviation heritage center. I should add that Judith and Stewart were good enough to give us a half dozen free range eggs from their chickens and on departure we were treated to a couple of lovely courgettes and a freshly cut lettuce. Looking forward to our next visit!!

Long weekend at Ryland Grange Farm

Ryland Grange Farm
This is a fabulous CL, the owners couldn't be more friendly. The site is secluded and approached down a long farm road and the pitches are reasonably flat and all services are near to hand. The welcome we received was superb and we were made to feel at home straight away. We were the only caravan on site for the weekend and our stay was very enjoyable. Lincoln is only 30 minutes away, but as we were local to the area we decided to relax and not travel too far. The Knights Templar Tower at Temple Bruer is only a short ride away and we spent 45 minutes there enjoying the delights of the 13th century tower which is all that remains of what was once a very large site. A day spent in Newark was well worth the visit and there are quite a few attractions to keep you occupied. The day we spent at Belton House (National Trust) was fantastic and only 30 minutes away, the house and grounds are beautiful. There is a wonderful pub The Hare and Hounds only 2 miles away in the village of Fulbeck and there we had one of the best Sunday lunches we have had in a long time. Care is needed on the turn off from the busy A17 when accessing and exiting the farm road leading to the CL, but once this is understood it no longer becomes a problem. If you are an aviation buff then this is an ideal place to visit with many airfields, museums and memorials throughout the area and all within 30-45 minutes travel. Highly recommended.
