Why stay here ...

A warm welcome for adults only and a relaxing stay can be had on our site quietly set on a 300 acre farm, just 2 miles off the A148 and the Georgian town of Holt with its quaint little shops tucked away in quiet back streets - a must for browsers and antique hunters.

Hempstead Hall and its surroundings are very picturesque with the River Glaven running through the farm. Enjoy a walk around the kitchen garden and greenhouses or on the farm and feed the ducks, chickens and donkeys.  A variety of wildlife can be seen on the farm. Look out for the wild deer, Red, Roe and Muntjac are regularly spotted grazing. Barn owls can often be seen hunting on the meadows. Ducklings are a pretty sight wandering around the farmyard with their mothers in the Spring and early Summer. There are also a variety of walks around the surrounding villages and a five mile circular walk to Holt Country Park, Baconsthorpe Castle is also nearby. Recycling on site.

A lovely day can be enjoyed with a visit to the seal sanctuary at Blakeney Point by boat or take a ride on the steam train from Holt to the seaside town of Sheringham. The coast is just 6 miles away with sandy and shingle beaches and is good for sea fishing. There is also coarse fishing available nearby. Sheringham, West Runton and Cromer golf courses are all open to non-members and are within easy reach.

There are many local restaurants and pubs within easy reach that do excellent meals and serve local ales.

If you have friends wishing to visit you, Bed and Breakfast is available in the Farmhouse. We have a double and a twin room.

Should be wonderful, but unsuitable in several ways

Hempstead Hall
Quiet, by beautiful old brick/flint hall and barns. 10 mins from Holt. Should be perfect, but unfortunately very difficult in some ways. Only 2 level pitches at bottom of main field, owner does not recommend for MH after wet weather. 2 more at top of steep slope and only small bumpy level areas. Our 7.2m MH overhang the slope - rather scary. 1 more at far end in dip. William does offer alternatives in farm yard. No animals, but no views. CDP is thru 3 gates in another field, and rinse tap 15 yards from tank. Very regrettably we found this site to be unfit for a medium or large motorhome.

A Norfolk Gem

Hempstead Hall
Stumbled across this site and what a find!. After our initial 10 day stay we immediately booked another 2 weeks and the 2nd visit confirmed our view. This is a quiet and peaceful site in a very rural location. A proper basic CL . Well kept and clean and tidy. Ideally located for cycling and walking the North Norfolk countryside.Numerous walks from site both into Holt and North to the coast. We used the car 3 times during our 24 days on site!. William and Lynda were very welcoming and have a wealth of local knowledge to share. We will be back soon.

A really lovely setting, peacefull with amazing views and friendly owners. What more could one want?

Hempstead Hall
We had another amazing stay at this wonderful place. Hempstead Hall is tucked away in beautiful Norfolk countryside and has some lovely walks and loads of wildlife to watch. We watched Deer, Buzzards, Red Kites and Hares all on the same morning stroll through the Farm's lanes. William pointed us in the right direction so that we could find the paths and was more than happy to tell us about the Farm and answer our questions about the crops and the Hall and it's amazing gardens. There is a shortcut through the fields to the lovely little town of Holt with some nice shops and pubs. Thank you William and Lynda. We are already looking forward to our next visit in July with our friends who are staying with you for Farmhouse B&B.
