Why stay here ...

My CL is a quiet site, on a working farm in the centre of a beautiful village in the Vale of York. Adults, children and a maximum of two dogs are welcome.

The site is located in a large field near the farmstead just off the village street, and in the same field is the village cricket circle and pavilion where visitors are always welcome. The pitches are flat, lawned on good draining soil, and all have electric hook-ups.

York, Yorkshire Dales and Moors, country houses and National Trust properties and market towns such as Harrogate, Knaresborough, Ripon, and Helmsley are all within easy reach of the site.

There are several golf courses and fishing lakes nearby and Alne has a large playing field with tennis courts and a play area. Route 65 cycle way runs through the village and gives access to York for cyclists. We are also on a bus route to York.

We have a small fam shop selling our own Aberdeen Angus beef, eggs, honey and other local produce together with a lovely cafe serving homemade cakes and drinks.

Amazing First Stay

Home Farm
Just back from this wonderful CL site after a couple of nights, so easy to get to and proper approach to the site. What a fabulous time we had, so peaceful and quiet, only the lambs and cows for company. The site wardens are very welcoming, knowledgable and helpful. We bought a couple of their steaks and eggs from reception and walked around the village to an honesty barrow which had veg, jams etc to buy. Only a Couple of nights trying out the new to us motorhome so didn’t venture too far this time but the weather was good only rained at the end of the first day and overnight on the second, so we just enjoyed the surroundings. The owner made time to come and say hello which was very nice considering it’s such a busy working farm. We will definitely visit again. Thank you.

Lovely site

Home Farm
Just back after 2 nights on this lovely CL - access from the south via A64 & A19 is extremely easy and it was nice not to have to use any single track roads as is so often the case with a farm CL. Rachel was very welcoming and helpful and has clearly taken on board all the changes now made necessary by Covid-19. The site is a decent size field - flat with plenty of space, especially as they're only taking 4 units at the moment. The grass is short and clearly drains well if our experience when leaving yesterday after a lot of overnight and early morning rain is anything to go by. While this area is not the most scenic, it's only a short drive to the Howardian Hills to the east or to the Dales to the west and we enjoyed visiting Boroughbridge & Easingwold. We had lunch at The Dining Room in Boroughbridge and it was excellent - quality ingredients, all perfectly prepared - definitely worth a visit. We also walked up to the Devil's Arrows just outside the town - 3 spectacular monoliths that are around 5 metres high and apparently were somehow transported from around Knaresborough in the Bronze Age. Not much information despite the best efforts of a local councillor we met who is trying to get a decent information board erected but is suffering from local bureaucracy... We bought a couple of Aberdeen Angus steaks from the reception shop - which came from Rachel & John's herd and were wonderful and, again, highly recommended as is the CL! One to return to!

Third visit to this great CL and not the last

Home Farm
I have little to add to my review of last year, as we have recently made our third visit. We are not generally repeat visitors, but Easingwold keeps drawing us back, and this is for us the best CL in the area. This time we fitted in more cycling, as well as a visit to York, via the convenient park and ride at Rawcliffe down the A19. Home Farm will be an obvious choice next time we want to stay in the delightful area north of York.

Great CL

Home Farm
We stayed here for 2 nights on route back from London. Very nice tidy site with all you need. The shower block costs a couple of pounds extra per night and is a short walk into the main site owned by the same people, something to be aware of if you don't plan to use the onboard facilities of your van. It is a nice walk through the main site to the block, everything is spotless and we found everyone very friendly. The walk also goes past the local cricket field which in my view added a nice outlook. Alne is a nice village, with a local pub that provides excellent meals. Plan to return to Yorkshire to spend more time there and would certainly use this CL again.

Nice CL

Home Farm
This is a lovely CL site. the only gripe is it a bit of a walk to the shower block. At £11 a night it seems cheap, dont forget if you have an awning or your want to use the shower block its an extra £2.50 per night. The grounds are lovely , we will be back.
