Felt very unwelcome

We stayed on this site over the weekend, the road to the site is quite narrow so be carful on your approach. Our friends arrived on the Friday and said they were given the gate key and told where their pitch was, not direction given and it was dark when arrived. Found the pitch and hooked up, due to it being cold had their heater on, turned the kettle on and blew the power! No trip on the box so had to go to the house to get it sorted. Person came to fix it and said “we have problems with the power”. There is a lot of building work going on and the facilities are very limited, there is a toilet and 1 shower very old but clean. There is a chemical waste area on the CL part as well as the main part of the site. The pitches on the CL part are a good size and each have their own water supply. I did not see a Motorhome area or a grey waste area, but that’s not to say they did not exist. When we arrived we went to the reception area and no one was their, we called the number and no answer so we used our friends gate key to get in. We did not see a member of staff during our stay. You can hear the motorway from the pitch. In our opinion it was ok for an overnight but that’s it.

Tad noisy

Found it close to the motorway with noise and it was only a stop over but wouldn't like to be over the other side of the house would prefer the pitches by the water

Great site

Have just stayed here after picking up new van from highbridge.Followed directions from book, and spot on.Approach roads are little narrow in places,so be cautious. We're shown our pitch, and told to get sorted before paying.Nice flat good sized pitch with water to each one.Country views all round, and sheep opposite. As we have dogs were pleased to find good walks, and plenty of dog bins.Bonus of small warm toilet block opposite entrance.Exspect some noise from motorway, which is close. But all in all were made welcome, and this is a peaceful spot in great area.Lots to do and see,and gave us time to get used to our new toy before a long drive home.Would stay again.

Convenient stopover

If visiting this site, use the directions supplied and not your sat nav. We did the former and they were spot on. The lady who welcomed us was very nice. There seemed to be some building work going on there when we arrived but this did not intrude upon the stay. The CL is on the left as you enter and all pitches are large, with well drained gravel. This was excellent as there had been a considerable amount of rain. Sheep are in the field opposite. There are toilets in the site adjacent to the CL, don't know whether one is supposed to use them, though they are bit old, but welcome. We were using the site to take our van for service at Highbridge Caravans and will use it again for this purpose. It would equally be a useful stopover when travelling to Cornwall. Good value as well
