Why stay here ...

Our CL nestles in a quiet, rural location and offers easy access to both the beautiful and historic Suffolk Heritage Coast, and the renowned Norfolk Broads.

We are situated close to the Suffolk/Norfolk border, and just over 3 miles from our nearest beach. We are 7 miles from Southwold, and 5 miles from Beccles.

Our 5 pitches are on grass with views over farmland, all facing west for beautiful sunsets, and with EHU and chemical waste, refuse and recycling disposal. With mature trees and a large pond, we are home to a wide variety of wildlife, including deer, hares, pheasants, partridges, owls, woodpeckers and jays. Our wildflower meadow, which borders the pitches, is currently a work in progress, along with recent planting between the pitches.

Each pitch is named after a favourite Suffolk Heritage Coast destination – Southwold, Dunwich, Thorpeness, Aldeburgh and Orford.

This famed coast is changing rapidly as erosion and longshore drift continue to have a visible impact – Dunwich Museum tells the story of a once flourishing port, now largely buried beneath the sea. Southwold offers beauty and entertainment in equal measure, with well-preserved architecture; the theatre; the pier; and brewery and distillery tours through the town’s long association with Adnams Brewery. Aldeburgh, another unspoilt, former fishing village, has artistic connections with Benjamin Britten and Maggie Hambling. Thorpeness was designed as an elite resort in the early 1900s and remains a charming village with varied architecture. Orford is a historical and geographical gem, with a medieval castle and Orford Ness to  explore. The coast also has many significant connections with wartime activities.

We heartily recommend any or all of these for a day out and can offer suggestions for these and many more places to visit, eat, drink, walk, and enjoy nature.

We have many NT properties within easy reach, and some quirky museums nearby. There are excellent restaurants, warm and welcoming hostelries and great produce in local farm shops, along with general shops and supermarkets within a 10 minute drive.

For the adventurous, the UK parachuting centre and a go-kart track are 2 miles away at Ellough, and boat trips and fishing are available locally. For nature lovers RSPB Minsmere and many popular birdwatching sites are within a 30 minute drive, and Africa Alive Zoological Reserve is 3 miles away. Latitude Festival takes place 10 miles away at the Henham Estate, and Thorington boasts an open air theatre in the woods with a summer programme of events.

So – relax, explore, indulge – the choice is yours! We look forward to your visit.

Fantastic hidden gem of a site

Suffolk Heritage Coast
A big thank you to the owner Philip who made us feel right at home, and made our holiday a real treat! This is a lovely cl , would put this up as our favourite at the moment, it’s peaceful and relaxing with enough space for awning caravan and car on each pitch with views over a wild flower seeded meadow (even saw pheasants one evening). Electric hook up to each pitch ,some with water, very good waste and recycling facilities . Lovely sunsets as well, this site is ideal to explore the many beautiful local beaches and not forgetting the Norfolk broads which are within easy reach via car. Philip is a mine of information and can point you in the right direction for anything you’d ever need to know about the local area. We had fantastic weather while away and so spent most days lazing about on the beautiful beaches, and exploring the local pubs and restaurants. There’s plenty to do and see in the area, you won’t be disappointed if you decide to pay this one a visit, just make sure you don’t take our space as we will be back . Oh and just to say we don’t need toilet/shower facilities , as all caravans now a days come with them built ,so don’t let this put you off use what you have and enjoy the experience. 5 star cl and owner, thank you Philip, with best regards Chris and Kath.

Welcoming

Suffolk Heritage Coast
Philip was very welcoming and explained where the facilities were, tucked away out of sight. Perhaps one of the best CDP I've used and spotlessly clean. Each pitch has water and electric and matting under the grass to prevent getting stuck. Excellent location as a base particularly if you have a car or bikes. We cycled to Beccles along quiet country lanes and then a national cycle route which took us through back streets. We also cycled to Lowestoft, along country lanes and and then excellent cycle lanes into the town. We visited the Transport Museum at Carlton Colville where we were able to secure our bikes at a well placed cycle rack. Interesting museum to while away a few hours. There's a small cafe in Henstead which is part of an arts centre.

Lovely site. Very peace

Suffolk Heritage Coast
Very peaceful. Nicely walks in surrounding area and easy access to Lowestoft, Southwold and other beaches and attractions. Site nicely layed out with flower beds between pitches. Philip the owner was very nice and welcoming. Would be even better with a shower/toilet block but really couldn't fault it.

A real gem!

Suffolk Heritage Coast
A hidden gem! One of the most beautifully presented sites we have been to. Peaceful setting and well thought out layout. Lovely grass pitches, slight gradient but very even. Water and electricity on each pitch. The owner Philip was very friendly and helpful. A real pleasure to meet him. Thank you for a wonderful stay - we hope to be back soon. An OUTSTANDING CL

Suffolk Heritage Coast
I echo the previous reviews and more. I was unsure about joining the CAMC, just not into large sites and lots of people, so the CL concept is/was for us. This CL is outstanding and the attention to detail is noticeable. Philip has planted superbly, cuts the grass and collects so a clean site. Plenty of room between pitches and wonderfully quiet. We had the entire site to ourselves which did make it extra special, that said had the site been full, it would still had the same feeling of quality, tranquility and warmth to the soul. Within the village was a great cafe and would recommend breakfast…….no need to order the x large breakfast…..medium is sufficient! It’s a firm 10/10 from us!
