Great stay

Lancing Fruit Farm
Had no trouble finding, must have put more signs up. Lovely peaceful site. Good access by bus £2 single to Brighton, worthing, Shoreham and littlehampton. Lancing village has everything in walking distance. Thoroughly enjoyed our 3 weeks. Thanks Barry, and Steve

Definitely worth a visit, but........

Lancing Fruit Farm
Firstly, let me say we had a brilliant 4 nights at this site. NEGATIVE BIT. 2 days before we were due to arrive, I rang just to check everything was ok and ask what time we could arrive. The owner told me 11am, so I said brilliant & see you Saturday. The approach to the site is quite over grown. If you have an 8ft side van it is likely to get very scratched. You need to follow the written instructions on this, as I didn't, and you feel like this can't possibly be right! On arrival the owner had no knowledge of me coming (even though I rang 2 days before). Unfortunately, his wife passed away in March and she had taken my booking. Luckily he had space for us and our friends, loaning us electric cables to extend across the site, but we made it work. POSITIVE BIT. So peaceful with so much wildlife. There is a train line behind, but it didn't bother us. A nice 1 mile walk will take you to the railway station in Lancing. This is on the High Street where you will find bars, takeaways, shops, Asda, and a short walk to the most beautiful pebble beach. We caught the train to Brighton which was £5.40 for an open return & had a brilliant day. We caught the bus to Shoreham, and we also biked along the coastal cycle track which takes you all the way to Brighton if you want. Even though the start was a little tricky, I would still highly recommend this site.

It was ok but…….

Lancing Fruit Farm
We booked here as we were cancelled from the club site at Littlehampton and had an event to attend. Approach wasn’t good, more signage would help, there are directions on the web page but they weren’t that understandable when we arrived. A sign to let you know you’re going the right way up the single track would help enormously. The track is very bumpy and the hedges are encroaching, it was also a tight turn into the site with others parking cars at the entrance. We were met by the owner who was friendly and advised us where to pitch, we were very fortunate to have a levelish dryish pitch but the site can become very boggy as our friends in their motor home were unfortunate enough to find out when they got stuck. Fairly quiet even with the trains going past which didn’t bother us. We had a nice stay but we wouldn’t go back

Cheap and mostly cheerful.

Lancing Fruit Farm
This is not a bad site, it is pretty and quiet (notwithstanding the occasional train). Surrounded by trees you are shielded from whatever lies beyond. The access to the site lets it down, not just the narrow, bumpy track overgrown with van scratching brambles, but also the narrow housing estate roads on the approach from any direction. The ground on the site is laid to grass but is not level. It's not on a hill but the whole site has hollows and inclines and getting the van level wasn't easy. We found that 4 of the 5 or 6 hook ups were all on the same post, right next to the chemical disposal, meaning that unless you carry another 25 metre extension you have to pitch near the septic tank or use one of the owner's aging extension leads. One of our neighbours had their power cable straight across the middle of the field with a chair over the connection to prevent ti being run over. The site was ok, but the amenities were tired and in need of refreshment, even if that just meant cutting back the nettles from near them. The owner was friendly and it wasn't expensive to stay here. We were visiting family in Worthing but probably wouldn't have picked this site otherwise. Would we stay here again? No, it just wasn't for us but I'm sure there are worse places.

Lancing Fruit Farm
First timers, July 2021. Lovely surroundings, no problem finding the place. Access was easy. Farmer came to see us, great guy! Railway a bit noisy but got used to it, stayed for 2 nights. Not much to do in the area unless you drive some where. Nice pebble beach within walking distance Great place for the dog! Really relaxing, will go again
