Often billed as the capital of the Llyn Peninsula, the coastal market town of Pwllheli is well worth a visit.
Keen sailors can use it as a base from which to explore Cardigan Bay and the Irish Sea, while coastal cruises offer the chance to see some local wildlife, such as dolphins and seals, up close.
The town's south-facing beaches are popular, in particular Glan y Mor near the marina, which offers both sand and shelter.
Art galleries and the Neuadd Dwyfor entertainment venue mean there's always something on offer for culture buffs, and nearby is the Penarth Fawr medieval house, which dates back to the 15th century.
