Why stay here ...

We are pleased to announce that from Friday 1st March 2019 our Cheddar Club Site will be open all year round allowing members to enjoy this particularly scenic part of the country throughout the four seasons.

One of our many Somerset caravan sites, Cheddar Club Site is situated on the very edge of Cheddar Village and boasts magnificent views of the Mendips and surrounding countryside - an absolute walker's paradise.  Amenities in the village include a variety of shops, pubs and takeaways. Cheddar Caves and Gorge and the famous Cheddar Gorge Cheese Company are all within easy walking distance of the caravan site. With Wookey Hole Caves and Mill and England's smallest city of Wells just a short drive away, you are sure to have plenty to see and do during your stay.

For the active and sporting visitor, the Cheddar Club Site offers access to loads of fun activities in the area - karting, pony-trekking, golf, off-road driving and a great cycle path are all available just a few minutes away. For fishing and water sport enthusiasts there is Cheddar Reservoir a short distance from the caravan park, with a host of different activities throughout the year. If you would rather just relax on a nice beach, Burnham and Weston-super-Mare are both within a half hour's drive, offering all the shopping conveniences you could wish for. Visit the site in November and you will also be able to enjoy the colourful atmosphere and bright lights of the Burnham-on-Sea Carnival.

Good Site

Stayed one night only, but nothing to dislike about this site. Good location for Cheddar Gorge shops and pubs - level walk via footpath for the most part avoiding busy roads. Site is level and well maintained and overall has a feeling of being efficiently run. Level site, some grass pitches but hard standing only at this time of year (October). TV reception is poor, but booster plug-in is available which solves the problem. Entrance is via narrow lane, but only for a relatively short distance. They operate a strict post 1pm arrival policy which should minimise access problems. Sanitation is standard CMC offering and perfectly adequate. A motorhome point is available but conflicts with the exit which is not ideal.

Very good site

Good site, central, no path to village via main road, {main road over small narrow bridge} have to divert left out of site and up over a railway bridge, via steps onto path walkway to village. obviously a bit of a walk. Site wardens very helpful. Village football pitch next to site, warden advised us before a match. Showers very small and claustrophobic, but spotlessly clean. Bath Arms good for a meal and a glass of something. Sainsburys small but very good staff. Church bells chime, lovely to hear.

Cheddar caran Clclub site

Well run site by friendly wardens. Showers were a bit on the small size but were clean and worked well. The motorhome emptying point is not in the best position as most mornings there was a queue at some time as people could not get by when emptying was taking place.

Fabulous site, perfect for the Gorge and cycling

What a lovely site in a perfect location, just minutes from the shops and pubs of Cheddar and easy to access the Gorge and the cycling route - the strawberry line. I will definitely be back. Great that the tv aerial point is there too . Loved it.
