For fishing and water sport enthusiasts there is Cheddar Reservoir a short distance from the caravan park, with a host of different activities throughout the year. If you would rather just relax on a nice beach, Burnham and Weston-super-Mare are both within a half hour's drive, offering all the shopping conveniences you could wish for. Great Site Horrific Entrance

People only ever read the bad reviews...... So lets start on the upside. Great Location, close to the town of Cheddar. Really lovely wardens, salt of the earth people. Quiet and well maintained. Nothing there for children. Now the nitty gritty and the only and biggest complaint.. If your in a small unit then stop reading here and visit the site. IF your in a large twin axle unit of a fifth wheel then getting out can be a headache. There is a sweeping in entrance that on the way in is ok but on the way out is tight. WHY OH WHY do so many caravan and motorhome club sites have ridiculous entrances??? Mines an American Caravan and I take it on the chin that itS long, but this site at the entrance/exit has a brick pillar that only has disaster written all over it. Whats worse is it serves no purpose other than to inflict damage.

Good, apart from piped music

We found this a pleasant site, within easy walking distance of shops and Cheddar Gorge, and with views of the pretty Mendip Hills, if you choose a pitch along the back hedge. The wardens are helpful and hard-working, and our stay was peaceful and sunny. It is not very safe to walk into Cheddar along the main road, which is without a footpath at blind spots, and it would be helpful if it was specifically pointed out on arrival that there is walking route in the opposite direction as you turn out of the site gate. The only thing that spoiled the site for us was the loud radio in the washrooms. It is ironic that on a site where all the other users were considerate, and we were never disturbed by amplified sound around the site, the management ensured that we could not escape it in the washroom. Please switch it off.

Noisy

It is a good site except for noise. The main road is busy from about 5.00 in the morning until 1100 at night. While we were there, the adjacent rugby club groundsman mowed the pitch every day from about 4.30p.m. until 7.00, just when we wanted peace and quiet to eat our evening meal. Try to avid the pitches next to the rugby field.

June stay

This is such a lovely site, always happy to be here, great supermarkets nearby and as a motorhome owner that’s important. The wardens are lovely, very helpful and friendly. The site is beautifully kept tidy..... But, come on Caravan & MH club get the shower blocks sorted out! Showers are far too small, outdated, no proper shelf for clothing. And only 4!

Good site

We stayed 3 nights in May. Chose it because of the Strawberry Cycle line. Downloaded a good map from the Club website. The cycle line was easy to find with the map. Be aware that some of the route is on roads - although Axbridge was beautiful. Had a great cycle around the reservoir. Tesco & Sainsburys close to walk to for a newspaper. Sainsburys had a good selection of dry Gluten Free food. Made the mistake of not noting the directions to walk into the main part of Cheddar so missed out on several shops & small pubs. We thought the road with Tescos was the main part. Cheddar is mad at the weekend with tourists so this is a great site because you can leave the car behind.
