Why stay here ...

We are pleased to announce that from Friday 1st March 2019 our Cheddar Club Site will be open all year round allowing members to enjoy this particularly scenic part of the country throughout the four seasons.

Cheddar Club Site is situated on the very edge of Cheddar Village and boasts magnificent views of the Mendips and surrounding countryside - an absolute walker's paradise.  Amenities in the village include a variety of shops, pubs and takeaways. Cheddar Caves and Gorge and the famous Cheddar Gorge Cheese Company are all within easy walking distance of the caravan site. With Wookey Hole Caves and Mill and England's smallest city of Wells just a short drive away, you are sure to have plenty to see and do during your stay.

For the active and sporting visitor, the Cheddar Club Site offers access to loads of fun activities in the area - karting, pony-trekking, golf, off-road driving and a great cycle path are all available just a few minutes away. For fishing and water sport enthusiasts there is Cheddar Reservoir a short distance from the caravan park, with a host of different activities throughout the year. If you would rather just relax on a nice beach, Burnham and Weston-super-Mare are both within a half hour's drive, offering all the shopping conveniences you could wish for. Fabulous site, perfect for the Gorge and cycling

What a lovely site in a perfect location, just minutes from the shops and pubs of Cheddar and easy to access the Gorge and the cycling route - the strawberry line. I will definitely be back. Great that the tv aerial point is there too . Loved it.

This may just be the perfect site

Stayed at many C&MC sites and in the main enjoyed them. However, there is usually a drawback: noise, pitches too close, too far to walk to a shop etc. Cheddar is just about perfect. Small, quiet, great views, friendly staff, well spaced pitches, easy and pretty walks to town, close to gorge and reservoir. Big plus was the church bells which ring distantly every quarter of an hour. They do not disturb but are redolent of old fashioned country life. On Sunday morning they burst into life with an 8 bell varying peal. Now clearly audible but a real pleasure to hear. Cheddar village is charming and has the advantage of a Tesco express and a larger Sainsbury tucked away in a side street so as not to spoil the village ambience. Running alongside the site is the Cheddar Yeo river which feeds the reservoir (a pleasant mile or so away and a couple of miles round). Didn't really have time to explore further this time. Will I be back? You bet your sweet bippy! In fact have already booked for a weekend in October. Highly recommended.

Would come back

A pleasant surprise, liked the site, position and staff, on arrival Wardens gave advice on pitch, we choose to back onto football ground, told me be noisy afternoon as a cup game, by 5.30 silent. My only comment has to be about arrival times, stated 13.00 which we adhered to, but noted some turning up 11.00 while wardens were cleaning, which they stopped and allowed them in, noted this as a discussion point prior on forum, while it saves the rush @ 13.00 , not playing fair to staff or others, either it is a rule or not. If you are going with bikes the strawberry trail is great.

Ace Cheddar Club Site

First class site in a great location, ideal for exploring Somerset, visit Glastonbury if you have not been there, great place to be, the staff are extremely helpful, pitches are well kept, toilets & showers are spotless just a really nice place to be and very relaxing. Note about the Sat Nav, I have a Club Sat Nav that is easy to navigate to club sites, but coming to the site south down the M5 the route takes you off at Junction 21, this is a really tricky narrow route to the site, try to avoid, best way is to come off at Junction 22 follow the A38 then the A371 a much easier route.
