Why stay here ...

We are pleased to announce that from Friday 1st March 2019 our Cheddar Club Site will be open all year round allowing members to enjoy this particularly scenic part of the country throughout the four seasons.

Cheddar Club Site is situated on the very edge of Cheddar Village and boasts magnificent views of the Mendips and surrounding countryside - an absolute walker's paradise.  Amenities in the village include a variety of shops, pubs and takeaways. Cheddar Caves and Gorge and the famous Cheddar Gorge Cheese Company are all within easy walking distance of the caravan site. With Wookey Hole Caves and Mill and England's smallest city of Wells just a short drive away, you are sure to have plenty to see and do during your stay.

For the active and sporting visitor, the Cheddar Club Site offers access to loads of fun activities in the area - karting, pony-trekking, golf, off-road driving and a great cycle path are all available just a few minutes away. For fishing and water sport enthusiasts there is Cheddar Reservoir a short distance from the caravan park, with a host of different activities throughout the year. If you would rather just relax on a nice beach, Burnham and Weston-super-Mare are both within a half hour's drive, offering all the shopping conveniences you could wish for. Lovely Campsite

Great little campsite extremely close to the strawberry line cycle trail, which is quite easy to ride. This trail takes you through a lovely medieval village and through to the Thatchers Cider shop (2 mins further on than the restaurant). Here you can enjoy some of the famous somerset tipple and hopefully get home in one piece. Cheddar gorge and all it's restaurants and pubs a 10 minute walk up the hill. Don't forget to get all your meat/ cheese/ Pasties/Pies/ sundries from the local butchers come deli in the small town of cheddar. It's an exceptional shop and the prices are a third of the prices in the Gorge. All the locals shop here.

First time visit to this site. Will definitely be visiting again. This is an exceptionally clean, helpful staff and well situated site, excellent dog walk. Only fault needs better signage as post code takes you into new housing estate if you are travelling from Wells

One of the best CAMC sites

This site is immaculate and the wardens clearly spend a lot of time keeping the site well tended. The wardens are welcoming and friendly, the site just looks so neat and tidy and the toilet block is cleaned to a high standard. This site is a great example of how good CAMC sites can be. In the vicinity Cheddar village can be quite touristy but the local church adds a lot of rural charm with its bells (but they can be intrusive). You can walk to the village away from the main road (and as the latter doesn’t have footpaths for long stretches it is best avoided) and there is a Medium sized Sainsbury’s and a Tesco Express within a 5-10 minute walk. Wells is worth a visit - if only for the Hot Fuzz connection - but parking can be a bit of an issue in high season. I only wish it was closer to my home!

Enjoyable bank holiday stay

All we wanted was a short get away for bank holiday and within easy reach of home (50 miles). Site exceeded our expectations. Very close to Cheddar village and shops. Took our bikes and rode the Strawberry Line as far as Sandiford and Thatcher's Cider factory. A pleasant and not difficult ride. Wardens really are very customer focused and take time to welcome visitors. Probably the best I have met so far. Well done to Jo Malcolm and the team. Cheddar village is a small place with a touristy feel. Shop around for what ever it is you are looking for as typically prices are targeted at tourists. Plenty places to eat and drink, all within walking distance. Small and friendly. Down side are the limited shower and toilet facilities, which are spotlessly clean and well maintained. :-)
