My point is very simple. Pre pandemic I have usually booked 3 months ahead. Not interested in sites that need booking further ahead. Not interested in the honeypot sites either.

None of us have any idea how things will pan out yet and I’m not sure there'll ever be a return to pre-pandemic ways. Still, you can always book with the other club.👍🏻

Good on you for your dogged persistence, David.👏🏻

Booking by surface type will benefit all. Some prefer grass, some HS, so each can choose.

+1👍🏻, those it don’t suit will be replaced by those that it does & make it a fairer playing field for all.

Perhaps the thinking to introduce this at the same time as deposits will discourage those who are inclined to book lots of pitches and end up by cancelling many of them?  I guess only time will tell..

We book many of our pitches at sort notice, and providing we adopt a bit of flexibility, we haven't generally found a major problem.  However, we generally don't book weekends, because of our commitments elsewhere.  For our big holidays (e.g. 6 week summer stints) we do book in advance, but also use a combination of CAMC site, private sites and C&CC sites.  How this works with paying deposits at CAMC sites as well as others, remains to be seen  but I'm sure we will find a way of working it all out.  For us, some of the fun is in the planning..  🙂

You may well be right that it may ?deter the few who book many site pitches(weekends?)some think.?, unless the deposits are non refundable or non transferable ,then it will not be any different for some,  as last time deposits were taken, who try to play the system ,

The members it may affect are some retired folk who it seems are watching their pennies with prices

Motor caravaners at least will not unless wanting to pay the add £4.20?to get a hardstand ,unless there is a big increase in hardstands on some  sites that the club  lease ,(many) then it will be  interesting to see how it transpires with pitch availability

It would be nice if the cost of non-awning pitches was made less that that of standard pitches.  As MH'ers just using a wind-out and paying a bit less for a little less width would be fine.   In fact I can see non-awning pitches becoming more popular.

That’s one of the fairest suggestions I’ve read of late. If it takes up less acreage why should it cost more(ft2 sq ft)👍🏻

Two of the sites we use the  now non awning pitches are much better to use cool

The effect of deposits will depend on T & Cs

Posted on 26/10/2021 15:10

It will indeed, particularly with the ease of amendment. If that has to be done over the phone like the C&CC it’s a pain. However, as far as cut off etc are concerned, I suspect they will be similar to the C&CC and it is certainly easier to get a booking with them.

I can do what I have long done. If there is a CMC near a stop then CMC site first choice (if I am able to book hardstand when new system comes in) followed by CCC if close. Otherwise either a CL or commercial..

It is what we shall be doing in the future if the new system is not to our likingcool
