See Flying Scotsman in action throughout 2019 and beyond as it hauls special tours across the UK.

Starting at  Swanage Railway from 22–26 March there will be five non-stop runs per day between Swanage to Norden and then from 27 March – 10 April the Flying Scotsman will be on display at Swanage Railway. if anyone wants to visit, Haycraft Club Site in Dorset is just a few minutes walk from Swanage Railway and Hunters Moon Club Site is also nearby.

Without wishing to detract from Rowena's post in any way. For those of us who are a long way north of Dorset, could I offer an alternative or indeed an additional event at the North York Moors Railway which is on  from 30th March to 7th April.

They have an A4 class Pacific, "Union of South Africa" visiting on those dates, running on the line between Pickering Goathland and Grosmont.

There are 2 club sites in the Scarborough area and one ( no facility ) site near Whitby which would all put you within striking distance.

The ELR frequently have guest locos on the line from Bury to Rawtenstall which passes along the back of Burrs Caravan Club site ..... as featured in the recent magazine.☺

After the National Rally I'm off to stay at Broadway which is right beside the line into Cheltenham

As far as I am concerned, some of the Club sites are indeed in the right place.

Saddened  to  hear  that  over  the  w/end just gone  some deranged 'fans' of steam trains and / or the  Flying Scotsman  were encroaching on the railway lines to such an extent that the very use of  public railway lines was put in jeopardy.
