An altogether better booking experience

We’re really excited to let you know that inspired by members, following a number of focus groups, feedback from Club Together and member surveys, we are making some improvements to the online booking experience. In the first half of this year we will go live with the new booking experience for overseas sites and crossings. By the end of the year you’ll be able to book UK Club Sites in a fresh new way too.

What improvements are coming?

By the end of the year the new booking experience will enable you to:

  • Search all types of sites via a more user friendly map and location finder.
  • Compare sites by location, facilities and price.
  • Build a holiday itinerary and book multiple UK Club Sites, overseas sites and crossings in one session. You can also save your itinerary and come back to it later.
  • Search, book or amend via mobile, tablet, desktop or the new App. All devices will share a familiar layout and additional functionality will be added to enable overseas sites and crossings to be booked via the app.

We will also be evaluating your feedback with regards to some of the most common subjects discussed by members when making a booking with the Club – block bookings, cancellations and deposits. We are looking at different options to ensure the next steps we take to evolve the site booking experience are in the best interests of the membership as a whole.

Exact launch dates are still to be confirmed - we’ll let you know here, via email, on the website and via social as soon as the new booking experience is ready to try!

no, I don't generally get confused when over there, either......

unless CC get involved......

what is confusing is the current CC 'method' of booking an overseas rally pitch...

we were staying at Bonterra Park and there were no 'gold' pitches left when we arrived....however, the Club had a rally there and had purchased around 30 pitches from the site..most of which were lying empty..

so we spoke to reception who said that, as we were members we could get a pitch from CC, but we would need to book directly with them.

I rang CC HQ and 'booked', and paid for, the pitch (or so I thought)... however CC HQ had to 'check with the European Agent'....whoever that was...even the rally steward hadn't heard of him/her...

and, of course, the rally steward needed a printout of the comings and goings (to meet, greet and say goodbye to) of all members...

and, of course, the site office staff need to be told so that they could tell maintenance staff when to connect up (or disconnect) and read the meter on the electric supply.?

and then finally, the poor old paying customer needed to told that his booking was (finally) confirmed....

well, they took so long to get our desired extension sorted out, in the meantime they sold all the pitches from under our nose so we couldn't stay hence our being in Portugal not Spain....

so, I don't know what sort of process is going to be trialled for overseas bookings but it surely couldn't be worse than the fiasco at BP...and no booking taken online can currently be validated without the say so of the European Agent.....so how will that work?

we even had one of the office staff knocking on our door during dinner asking us what time we were leaving the next morning....we actually had another week there......

you'd think that actually being on site, on a pitch within talking distance of the steward and the office would have made things a bit slicker...

not.

Can you confirm that we will be able to filter a search using 'serviced pitch' in the new system?

If not, can this please be included as a priority as the developers still have some months before the system goes live.

Searching by serviced pitches is something that has consistently been requested and not yet materialised.

Thanks

Simon

I dont find it at all confusing, turn up and if pitch booking is in operation one is asked what would be  the latest leaving date (nothing to stop one leaving earlier), a list of available pitches for that period is run off and we choose one from it after a walk round. Quite simplewink

As far as improvement's to the booking app, theres also a magazine app, on my Samsung Galaxy 9plus some of the wording is cut short below, for example I presume "My Bookings" as I can only see "My".

I can amend and cancel from the app now, the frustrating thing for me is, I cant tap/click on my chosen bookings site name to take me to its directory listing, for the post code or simply refresh my memory of the site itself, I feel that would be a useful addition.

while I seem to know the club sites with SP I hope so too for others.

But I assume that:

Compare sites by location, facilities and price

will include SP? Otherwise it's just repeat of what you can currently filter for.

Amazing similar to the CAMC when you turn ip isnt it. You arrive with or without booking tell the warden how long your going to stay, walk around and you can choose ANY available pitch within the criteria you have chosen. Not confusing at all really is it, We can do it over here as well 😀
