Is it a rip off?

Hi I have a rant to get off my chest

Just booked a site for 21 nights for an eye watering £540!   After I got back on my feet I was informed that Caravan and Motor home club have increased their Easter fees this week two weeks early.  Why I ask. even the management were embarrassed and thought it were shocking.

I spent 5 nights last week on a fabulous caravan and camping club site in heart of Northumberland with all the facilities and with over 60s discount £8 pn!

After only just re-joining I cannot  see the benefits of staying with  C&M club prices are beyond out reach.

Presumably you had a reason for rejoining? Otherwise it seems a bit odd. The prices are there on the web site for all to see and shouldn't really have come as a shock.

have increased their Easter fees this week two weeks early.

Depends on who's definition of "Easter" you use.

Some, but not all, varieties of Christianity define Easter Sunday as first sunday after the full moon after the spring equinox. Which was actually LAST sunday.

Many local authorities realised this wandering date upset school, and other, routines and fixed the dates to be consistent year after year. The Caravan Club seems to recognise these dates in the pricing.

The confectionery industry starts easter in mid-December.

Your Rowntree/Nestle Easter eggs were being made from last Aug/Sept wink

I can only guess that you have to go away at Easter, and have chosen a site at that price. So, walk to a mirror, take a long good look, and tell yourself.........

”This angst is self inflicted. I can do something about it, if I want to!”

😂 Life is full of choices.

I have just returned from a fantastic stay at Black Knowle campsite in the new Forest. However due to the massive price increase of £10 per night from the 1st April we went a week earlier leaving on the 31st March saving £60..... I cannot understand why there was such an increase just because school holidays are approaching. The prices seem to yo yo throughout the year.

"Serviced" pitches here at Black Knowl are £39.20 per night for a couple over this period, needless to say most nights they are full and the majority of users are motor caravanssurprised

Ps I have found that I can still service our c/van without out the add cost wink

club site prices are a recurring theme on CT, with many being 'stunned' at the level they now reach in peak season, despite having access to prices when they book...

however, this doesn't preclude anyone from voicing their opinion that, despite paying them, they are unhappy at this level...

personally, I think £20 is a reasonable threashold for a UK club site, but if folk are quoting March prices at £23 and thinking this is 'reasonable' then no wonder the club is confident to continue raising them year on year...as someone mentioned in a thread a while back, the £50 CC site night isn't that far away...

and as for service pitches already at near £40 a night.....no comment.undecided

ps.....I've just checked Hillhead (renowned for its value...) and a SP in Summer is £46.80 a night!!

26/07/2019 - 01/09/2019 £13.70 £5.40 £15.50 £15.50 £19.40 £19.40

2x £13.70 + £19.40

Personally, meaning me I don’t have a problem with club prices, you pays your money........etc

What I do have an issue with is the club pretending to be family friendly and then increasing prices by at least 40+% during school holidays.
