Personally I find this a little bit of a myth. Their different MO on arrival might give that impression because you tend to spend more time with the site manager than you would with a C&CC warden. However during a stay I find very little difference between the two Clubs on that score.

Actually I do find the other club's sites to be more friendly. Not the staff in particular as I don't see much difference between the clubs in staff attitude. I find the sites tend to feel more relaxed and less 'tense'

Can't think that I have noticed much tension on any site.

one of the best features that we use with C&CC is their comprehensive program of Temporary Holiday Site (THS) meets...

no booking, cheap as chips and meets all over the country....

One of the reasons we joined was to try some of these.

Enjoyed our stays we've just had no difference on quality of facilities both come up trumps on that.

Being escorted to your pitch was nothing new to us as it can happen overseas at times.

The chat with the 'escort' has to be had to get you a pitch that you are happy with, we were shown a pitch on our first site that we probably wouldn't have chosen by ourselves but the 'escort' thought it best for our purposes.

As we were only staying one night it mattered not really, however I would in nicer warmer weather prefer a wider pitch opposed to a long narrow pitch. We like to sit out in good weather and some of the pitches were neat to be honest, you could of course sit on the grass but this then encroaches on your neighbours.

Not having to 'pitch' to the peg was relaxing, however it appears more and more we see on this clubs sites' members not bothering to do so.

When we were at Southport site a rally came on for the weekend. Part of the site had been coned off prior to this and we were asked not to pitch on any of the coned off pitches. As we walked round the site on Friday evening we noticed a number of the ralliers had ignored the rule and just put their vans anywhere on the pitch.innocent

We have been members of the C&CC for 35 years the membership subscription is cheaper, the club sites are cheaper and in our opinion as good as the C & MH sites ,the cs sites are the same as the cl`s and theTHS [temporary holiday sites] are exelent value for money, the week end rallies you can just turn up you don't have to book in advance.we have also found that the caravan insurance is a lot cheaper with the same cover. We stay with the C&MHC as we have been members for 47 years and with the two clubs it give us a vast range of sites to pick from. We also find that the membership of the C&CC appears to be much younger.

you can filter to area, date and type of meet....good luck.

Thanks BB will pass it on to his nibs.

The one thing I noticed with the C&CC is that they don't seem to have site plans, or do they and I haven't noticed?  I usually look at unfamiliar sites to get and idea of where about we might like to choose a pitch. With the option of a choice of pitches and types it would be good to 'see' before arriving so you can book in the area of choice.

They don't have plans on view, best thing is to use google earth etc. It's pot luck after you've booked what type of pitch you want but at least you know it will be available for you.

Thanks brue, I just thought it would be nice to see where the awning and non awning, jumbo, grass and h/s pitches were located in relation to the facilities block.

Guess this is one thing that this club do better then wink

We have booked a few CCC sites for this year, all hardstanding.  Do they have different sizes of hardstandings, or can you use an awning on all of them?  And do all hardstandings  cost  the same?

Our Fiamma is broken, so for our first trip we had said "no awning" , but now we have ordered a new lightweight porch type awning and would like to try it out.

Will we be able to try it out or do we need to ring them to change our bookings?
